Dumbo The
Flying Elephant
Dumbo the Flying Elephant, inspired by the 1941 film
classic "Dumbo," is one of the original Magic Kingdom attractions.
Soar high above Storybook Circus and fly through the air as an organ plays
whimsical carnival music. Take in the sights as you control Dumbo, making
him fly higher or lower with the feather light touch of a magical handle.
This attraction has delighted guests of all ages for over four decades and
it is easy to see why. Dumbo brings out the kid in everyone. As part of the
Fantasyland expansion, Dumbo was relocated from its original home just
beyond the castle to its new home as part of Storybook Circus. In addition,
another Dumbo spinner was added in order to double capacity at this
immensely popular attraction.
The
infamous long lines are now a relic of the past, as a new indoor "virtual
queue" was added as well. Guests receive a pager and enter a climate
controlled, fully indoor circus tent play area, complete with bleachers for
weary adults to relax while the kids run, climb, and slide to their heart's
content. With play areas for toddlers and older kids, there is something for
all ages here. When your ride time has arrived, your pager will go off.
Simply gather up your little ones and head towards the queue at the exit of
the tent.
Note:
FastPass+ holders will bypass the play area and enter the Fastpass return
line upon arrival.
Intercot Tip: Guests are welcome inside Dumbo's Circus Play Area even if they do
not wish to ride. Simply let the Cast Member handing out the pagers know
that you just want to "play."
