I felt the same way as you. I knew I wanted to go and shop (I am a huge shopper) but didn't know what else there would be there for us. On our first trip we went walked all the way threw the thing not impressed, did a little shopping. The second time we went I got my husband and kids up so early everyday they where done by 5. So I went and explored one night. The shops there are really great I had the time to really look and see everything. Basin the bath and body works type store is really wonderful, if you like that kind of thing. So on our last trip we went to Disney Quest and we really enjoyed it. My kids are a bit young 4 and 6 and not tall enough for alot of the ride but if everyone in your party is you will really enjoy it. Also the food Wolfgang Puck Express the CS is our fav. You get soo much food and if you have the dining plan this is the best keep secret.
All in all it's worth going at least once to see what there is.

I have to say that we're big fans of DTD - in small doses, early in the morning when they first open up. I will say that at night, when guests are crabby and the stores cramped, the magic seems to be drained somewhat . . .
We very much enjoy ordering our own customized Christmas ornament each year at Disney's Days of Christmas. We also enjoy choosing a select number of frames, pins, kitchen "stuff" and jewelry at World of Disney - and paying with our Disney rewards card. We also receive a discount here for being A/P holders/Disney Visa holders.
DS LOVES to hang out at both the Lego store and Once Upon a Toy (the Build Your Own Lightsaber Kiosk, according to him, is "da bomb"), and DH and I always find something fun at Team Mickey's.
We make it a point of stopping after a few hours and heading out - but it really is great fun for us. We have a good portion of our purchases shipped home so that we have "presents" to open when the Disney blues have set in upon our arrival home!

I think I must be the only one who enjoys spending a day at DD.
Some of my favorites are:
World of Disney
Earl of Sandwich - multiple visits every trip
The Art of Disney
Days of Christmas
Goofy's Candy Company
Ghirardelli's for ice cream
Getting some sun
Relaxing before heading back to one of the parks for an evening of fun
Checking out Once Upon a Toy

Took almost an hour to get there and wasn't impressed with the merchandise. Wish we had just stayed in MK. Was too late to eat at Earl of Sandwich.

We like DTD. We visit often so we dont go all the time. We are going for a weekend in June and spending an evening there after Typhoon Lagoon. Try it out to make your decision!

The West Side
We took the boat from Rainforest Cafe over to the West Side. We had a ball. We checked out La Nouba...the building. Then went to Virgin Mega Store. They had some neat stuff. Then went to the Magnet Store and got magnets for everyone. There was a speciality candy store there. We saw House of Blue, Bongos, and Pleasure Island. Meanwhile, there was a duo playing outside. The called themselves the Bodacious Brothers. They were good and funny. They got all the kids to play musical instruments and then go them to do the Limbo. It was so cute. Then we walked over to T-Rex and checked it out, then back to DTD. We had a blast. We just love it so much. Then over to Ghiradelli's for ice cream. After that, we boarded our boat back to POFQ. It was so much fun.
Keep smiling and Have a magical day!!!
It's all good.
We love to serve fun, food, and deliciousness.

We never miss DTD on our trips. It's definitely not an all day event, but still worth it if you like to shop. You could always stop there on your way to/from a park just to see if anything interests you. The World of Disney store is huge, Ghiradellis is a can't miss for some, and I always have a margarita by the water. It's just turned into part of our WDW experience and we wouldn't miss it. Good luck with whatever you decide!

We would not miss a trip to DTD while we are
at WDW. We love to eat at Wolf Gang Puck's
Express and then go to Ghiradelli for candy or
ice cream. We always like to go in the World of
Disney shop. Whatever you are looking for you
can find it there. Great shopping!

We used to always go one night because we really enjoyed the experience at the Adventurer's Club and we would eat somewhere (usually fultons) while there. Well now that Adventurer's Club is gone we don't have any plans of going to DTD other than the kids want to check out TRex. With the terrible ratings TRex is getting we are not very enthusiastic about it but will probably check it out once for them. Other than that there is really nothing in DTD that excites us very much. I agree with many others, don't waste valuable park time in DTD.

DTD is a must see for my family when we are at WDW! We go the first night we get into town and relish it! We make more than one trip to DTD when at WDW.

You're of worth! Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
Trips to WDW: 6
Trips to Disneyland: 8 plus.

You Can Build A Light Saber In The Gift Shop Of Star Tours At Mgm. So If You Are Only Interested In That, You Don't Have To Go To Dtd To Do It.
