Pirates Coming To Caribbean Beach Resort
According
to Scott Powers at the Orlando Sentinel, "Walt Disney World has unveiled a
rendering and a few details of some retheming and renovations in the works
for Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort -- theming it after the hugely-popular
Pirates of the Caribbean ride/movies/games franchise." Among the changes
are beds that look like ships, old crates for dressers, tattered sails for
curtains and more.

Changes in Store for Disney's Hollywood Studios
Coming in
October 2008 will be the recently announced “High School Musical 3: Senior
Year” and later this year, the Studios will host the annual Night of Joy
event for the first time and welcome back ABC Super Soap Weekend. Next year,
the park will unveil The American Idol Experience, host the first Grad Nite
events and welcome back ESPN: The Weekend and Star Wars Weekends. Other
changes in 2009 will be the elimination of the daily Fantasmic! shows.
Fantasmic! will be performed two times weekly –generally Mondays and
Thursdays - and more often during the busiest times of the year.

Calendar Released for January 2009
The
Walt Disney
World Resort has released it's
Extra Magic Hours, Operating and Event schedules for January 2009. For
guests visiting during this time, you will want to visit the
Park Hours and
Events pages to aid in planning your trip. Remember, all times and
schedules are subject to change, so check back often.

New Reservation System Upgrades Coming t0 Walt Disney World
The
Walt Disney World Resort has confirmed a new reservation booking system is
in the works for dining, recreation and tours, allowing travel agents and
guests the ability to make these reservations online. As a result of the
upgrade, effective July 29 through late October, guests will be able to book
dining reservations up to Jan. 25, 2009 arrivals. In late October, booking
processes will return to normal, allowing guests to book up to 180 days of
arrival. The official launch date for this enhancement will be announced at
a later date.

"Pocahontas & Her Forest Friends" Ending
The
interactive live show, "Pocahontas & Her Forest Friends", will go dark on
September 27, 2008, after a ten year run at Animal Kingdom's Camp Minnie
Mickey. Walt Disney World has not released any replacement plans for the
amphitheater at this time.

Two Character Meals Being Discontinued
Disney
Dining has confirmed that the lunch service at Epcot's Garden Grill will end
October 5, 2008. The location will be open for Dinner only, starting October
6, 2008. Also, being eliminated is Goofy's Liberate Your Appetite Character
Dinner at Magic Kingdom's Liberty Tree Tavern. This popular character
experience will be discontinued January 5, 2009. The final offering will be
January 4, 2009. Guests with current reservations should call to make
alternative arrangements.
