Social>>
INTERCOT was live on social
media earlier this month with tons of Springtime happenings around
the Walt Disney World resort. From the opening of Trader Sam's Grog
Grotto to a detailed look at the Flower and Garden Festival and from
a peak inside the new Disney Vacation Club section at the Polynesian
resort to an oversized Easter Egg hunt; INTERCOT showcased a bouquet
of new offerings and annual Spring fun around the resort.

<<Digging up
Dining>>
You may have stopped hunting
for Easter Eggs a few weeks ago, but INTERCOTee's are always hunting
for that 'hidden gem' restaurant. Here are a few of the INTERCOTee
favorites:
“We thought Grand Floridian
Cafe was a great hidden gem. You don't hear much about it, but it
turned out to be one of the best meals of our trip one
year.”—buzznwoodysmom
“The breakfast buffet at The
Captain's Grill is really good...lots of variety and made-to-order
omelets. And it's soo much cheaper than a character buffet. We make
it part of every trip.”-- catasaid
“I was blown away by the
Trails End buffet. It's now our must do each trip. I would not drive
there though. You'd have to park at the front of the campgrounds and
ride the bus to it and that takes quite a while. The best way to get
there is to take the boat from the Magic Kingdom and from the dock
it's just a short walk !!!”-- #1donaldfan
“One of our must do's is Sanaa
at Kidani Village (Animal Kingdom Lodge). It's quiet, you can watch
the animals while you eat, and it's got a different menu. But soooo
good. And while you're waiting to be seated, there is an outdoor
animal viewing area.”—azcavalier
“On our trip we had a terrific
breakfast on Easter morning at Las Ventanas - Coronado Springs
Resort. The service was great and the food delicious. I had the
Sourdough French Toast with a berry butter/compote and grilled ham.
So Good! My daughter had the Vegetable Omelet which was just as
good. The Cast Member was so attentive and even gave us coffee/tea
in to-go cups, without asking for it. The restaurant is near the
convention hall area past the Pepper Market situated next to the Rix
Lounge. The prices were reasonable and we wanted to try dinner there
as well, but didn't have time to fit it in this trip. However, I
would definitely recommend the breakfast.”—missymouseworld
<<Red Light,
Green Light>>
Whispering Canyon Café quietly
introduced participation cards in Late 2014. The popular dining
location at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is equally known for good grub
and Guest interaction. The new participation cards allow Guests to
easily communicate to Cast if they wish to participate or not. The
green side reads "Jump in and play" and the red side reads "Watch
from the fence".
Here’s a pair of INTERCOTee
experiences with the new offering:
"I used the disc when I ate
lunch there solo during Destination Rewind. I set it to "watch from
the fence". I had a limited amount of time to eat before the
afternoon session, so I wanted to just enjoy a medium rare bacon
cheeseburger and sweet potato fries and be on my way. "--Hammer
"We had the red/green card at
Whispering Canyon back in November. We couldn't decide if we wanted
to participate or not so it was nice to start off red and then
change to green once the family felt more comfortable."--magicofdisney
<<A Tale of Two
Refurbs>>
As a refurbishment of a
popular restaurant gets extended, the refurbishment of a popular
ride gets delayed. The on-going refurbishment of the Flame Tree
Barbecue has been extended a second time. The popular Disney’s
Animal Kingdom dining location has been re-scheduled to open from
refurbishment on May 23, 2015. During the extended refurbishment,
signature menu items will continue to be available at kiosks in
Discovery Isle and at Trilo-Bites in Dinoland. The announced
refurbishment of Pirates of the Caribbean at the Magic Kingdom park
has been delayed. The refurbishment originally scheduled to start
May 1, 2015 has now been announced to start June 8, 2015
