<<Introduction>>

Another year of Disney Dreams comes to a close. Christmas just past and the New Year right around the corner, in the sprit of these holidays the Insider is celebrating INTERCOTee's favorite Christmas festivities and is looking forward to many new dream-come-true moments for INTERCOTee's in 2011. In this edition we check out INTERCOTee's favorite Christmastime festivities and re-cap the latest news from around the resort that will effect planners for 2011.  Hang on to them hat's and glasses, cause this here's the most informative ride on the Internet!

<< INTERCOTee Top 5 ¦ Christmastime Festivities>>

While Christmas is upon us, it's a great time of year to get in the mood for planning a Christmas trip next year.  Here's a Christmas countdown to help you  get a full dose of Disney Christmas magic on your next trip.

Coming in at number 4 ¦ Holidays Around the World Storytellers

World Showcase comes alive with these special, spirited renditions of Christmas and other Winter Holiday lore.  From international incarnations of Santa Claus to other December cultural traditions, this Epcot entertainment is both a favorite of many and something easily overlooked.  Make sure to look for the scroll signs at each pavilion noting the specific times for these shows.  They are typically timed so that you can walk from one pavilion to the next, leisurely, and catch each show in succession.

Coming in at number 5 ¦ Festive Fireworks

Guests of Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party can experience the Magic Kingdom's night time spectacular, Wishes, with a Christmas twist.  Holiday Wishes features dazzling fireworks set to Christmas music and filled with Disney magic.  Epcot's nighttime tradition, Illuminations, features a festive finale during the Christmas season.  The "Let there be Peace on Earth" sequence is added to the regular show in a stunning finale that that many INTERCOTee's soon not forget.

Coming in at number 3 ¦ Confectionary Creations

Awestriking Guests annually at the Grand Floridian, is a gingerbread house so large that it doubles as a real bake shop. Located in the resort’s lobby, the house features gingerbread using a classic Austrian recipe. The bake shop offers freshly baked items such as cookies and gingerbread ornaments. Other homemade items for sale include Stollen Bread, chocolate peppermint bark, lollipops and special Grand Floridian logo boxes filled with truffles. Demonstrations of how to decorate a gingerbread house take place in front of the Gingerbread House six days a week.  Over at Epcot an equally edible structure is another festive favorite.  Santa's Gingerbread Bake Shop at Liberty Inn (at the American Adventure pavilion ) enchants guests of all ages. Guests peer inside the life-sized gingerbread house at goodies galore. The giant structure, made entirely of gingerbread, cookies and icing, features more than 800 pounds of sugar and more than 1,000 eggs. Inside the bake shop, Christmas cookies and hot and cold beverages, as well as souvenir gingerbread recipe cards, may be purchased.  The Beach & Yacht Club features festive confectionaries of their own.  The Yacht Club lobby showcases a mountain and village display intricately detailed and completely made of confectionary construction. The Beach Club lobby showcases a A life-size, completely edible carousel -- made with gingerbread, chocolate and sugar paste.

Coming in at number 2 ¦ Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights

Christmas lights transform the stunning skyline of the Streets of America into a spectacle of sight and sound.  This massive display has the extra  touch of "dancing" to the music intermittently through-out the night.  New for 2010, the cast of Disney Channel's Disney Channel's Phineas and Ferb television series has joined the spectacle.  In two new show sequences, Guests will find out if Phineas and Ferb can help fix some troublesome technical issues and if Agent P can foil Dr. Doofenshmirtz's plan to take over the light show.

And coming in at number 1 ¦ Cinderella Castle DreamLights

Cinderella Castle is transformed into a magical sculpture of ice nightly during the Christmas season.  Sparkling turrets and stunning towers of illumination glow against the night sky in a truly breathtaking sight to behold.  For a bit of extra magic, be sure to catch the lighting ceremony where Cinderella and the Fairy Godmother magically transform the Castle into this wonderful, wintry state.

<< A New Dream >>

Walt Disney: One Man's Dream" at Disney's Hollywood Studios reopened from a multi-month refurbishment last month. The one-of-a-kind showcase of the history of Walt Disney and The Walt Disney Company has retained its original focus, but has a new look and feel. One of several new displays is the "WED Imagineering Workshop" featuring portions of the original model for It's a small world at Disneyland Park, and the actual Audio-Animatronics Abraham Lincoln figure that debuted in the 1964/65 New York World's Fair. A new area called The Legacy Continues will focus on The Walt Disney Company highlights from the 1970s through today, and debuts soon. The film tribute One Man's Dream, hosted by Julie Andrews remains.
