<<Spooktacular Viewing Spots>

On select Autumn nights, the Magic Kingdom transforms into a realm of ghoulish delight.  Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween party offers two special entertainment events--Happy HallowWishes! and Mickey's Boo-to-You Parade.  Much like the regular nightly entertainment, these offerings are viewable from a number of locations around the Magic Kingdom.  Here's some INTERCOTee's recent thoughts on the best places to view these two spooky spectaculars:

"We usually try to watch Hallowishes from in front of the Castle, but really you can see them from anywhere in the park.  As for the parade, we have watched it on Main Street and in Frontierland. I really enjoyed it last year when we saw it in Frontierland."--LittleRoosMommy

"Our favorite spot to watch the parade is over at Liberty Square where the parade makes the turn. You get to see it coming straight at you plus a side view when it turns."--SHORTY

"I think the best place to watch the fireworks is between the Carrousel and Pinocchio Village Haus."--droopy d.

"We were just there and found the best spot to be for the parade is near the Hall of President - right across from the Liberty Tree. We got there about 20 minutes before the second parade and had great seats!"--CardsFan81

"We watched the Hallowishes fireworks from the area right next to the Tea Cups. We could see everything without having to turnaround in circles. It was wonderful and there was not a soul in sight. Very relaxing!"--KAT1811

"We try to watch the fireworks in front of the central garden with the statue of Walt and Mickey. A good spot is where the rail line splits. It's especially important to be here with this fireworks show since it covers a 180 degree arc of the sky.  As for the parade, Liberty Square is great. This past trip we stood across from Pecos Bill's. A great place except for the spotlight shining in my eyes and camera from above Pecos Bill's."--garymacd

"We watched Hallowishes right in front of the old "Fantasyland Skyway" entrance. Seemed to be almost under the action."--kemps@wdw

"We like to watch the parade in Frontierland in front of the shooting gallery. As for the fireworks, we were able to get seats on the second floor of the train station at the end of Main Street USA and had an awesome view!"--epceddie

<<A Frightfully Fun Night>>

Halloween fun isn't restricted to the Magic Kingdom at the Walt Disney World resort.  Guests can also get into the "spirit" of the season at Disney's Fort Wilderness resort. Guests can traverse the woods of Fort Wilderness on a 25-minute Haunted Carriage Ride while listening to the "Legend of Sleepy Hollow." Each carriage can accommodate 4 adults or 2 adults with 3 children ages 9 and under.  Haunted Carriage Rides are $60 per carriage and available at multiple times through-out the evening now through October 31, 2009.  Guests should call 1-407-WDW-PLAY to make a reservation.

<<Halloween Happenings>>

The park that Walt built gets into the spooky swing of the season with its annual Halloween Time event.  Spooky new fireworks and a new ghoulishly fun way to experience Space Mountain are among the new treats in store for Guests at this year's event.  Here's a rundown of all of the spirited happenings at Disneyland:

-Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy in Tomorrowland.  The scary new experience will begin as a typical Space Mountain adventure, but will suddenly launch voyagers into an uncharted and haunted section of the universe.  Ghosts appear out of the starry darkness and swirling galaxies of Space Mountain, reaching out as if to grab guests as they speed through space.

-Halloween Screams - A Villainous Surprise in the Skies.”  The new fireworks spectacular will haunt the nighttime sky throughout the Halloween season.  To start the show, “Master of Scare-omonies” Jack Skellington appears in a flash of fire above Sleeping Beauty Castle.  Thanks to Jack’s ghoulish charm, haunting melodies fill the air and a Halloween pyrotechnics extravaganza explodes into the night.  Such classic Disney villains as Maleficent, Ursula the Sea Witch, and Oogie Boogie join in the “spirit” of the celebration, and even Zero, Jack’s faithful ghost dog, will make an appearance.

-Jack Skellington also returns to take over the Haunted Mansion and bring back Haunted Mansion Holiday to New Orleans Square in Disneyland.  Transformed to a mix of Halloween spookiness and Christmas tradition, Haunted Mansion Holiday is inspired by the classic animated film “Tim Burton’s Nightmare Before Christmas.”

-Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland is again transformed for the Pumpkin Festival, where more than 300 “non-identical” pumpkins will be on display in shop windows.

-Visitors to Big Thunder Ranch in Frontierland will sometimes find the ranch animals dressed in costume for a seasonal Halloween Roundup, with pumpkin carvers, Halloween décor and activities for youngsters, all presided over by Sheriff Woody.

-Meeting favorite Disney characters will be easier than ever as Disney villains gather to plot Halloween mischief in “it’s a small world” Mall in Disneyland, while other characters in seasonal costumes greet guests in Town Square, Main Street, U.S.A.

-Special Halloween Time gifts are offered in Disneyland shops.  Gifts include jack-o-lantern mouse ears and collectable pins depicting Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and their friends in Halloween costumes.

The ghoulishly good times don't stop at Disneyland.  Disney's California Adventure also has some creepy offerings for Guests looking to part take in some frightfully fun activities.  Here's what the park has to offer:

-Sunshine Plaza becomes Candy Corn Acres, with Mickey’s pal Goofy up to his tricks again – attempting to wow the world with his unusual candy corn treats.  Candy corn carrots, candy corn pumpkins and candy corn grapes are just a few of the candy corn items Goofy is harvesting.

-Mickey’s Trick-or-Treat Party, a one-of-a-kind celebration that returns to Disney’s California Adventure for 12 nights in October.  Mickey’s Trick-or-Treat Party lets adults and children alike dress up and trick-or-treat in the ultimate Disney neighborhood.

<<Conclusion>>

This edition has come to a end, but Halloween fun is still going on at the Walt Disney World Resort and the Disneyland Resort.  Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween party continues on select nights at the Magic Kingdom through October 31, 2009. Halloween Time continues at the Disneyland Resort through November 1, 2009.  There's more fun to be had in the Fall at a Disney park, and we'll be back in a few weeks to share tips and info to help you do so.  See ya real soon!
