It’s now 2007, and you know what that means - a whole new year of Disney vacation planning! And there is more Disney than ever, as the INTERCOT and INTERCOT West discussion boards have recently merged. We’re all now on the same page, so to speak. Jason is going to give all the details about this exciting merge, and we’ll also bring you up-to-date on events and news for both resorts. Finally, Jane goes ‘off topic’ with those sometime wacky Water Cooler happenings. Get ready to read all about it!

- Walt Disney World Winter Refurbishment Updates -
Disney has added Turtle Talk with Crush to their latest list of winter refurbishments. The interactive attraction will be closed from January 29 through February 16, 2007. Many restaurants, resort pools, and theme park attractions are scheduled for renovations and rehab from January through March. This includes: Rock n' Roller Coaster, The Liberty Square River Boat, Tomorrowland Indy Speedway, Mitsukoshi Teppanyaki Restaurant, Kali River Rapids, El Rio del Tiempo, Splash Mountain, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Wilderness Lodge Pool and 1900 Park Fare - to name a few. - Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor Comedy Club Delayed at WDW -
The Disney Vacation Club and Annual Passholder previews on January 19-21 for Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor Comedy Club, at Magic Kingdom's Tomorrowland, have been delayed. When the new attraction opens officially in Spring 2007, Guests will be treated to an engaging and interactive attraction that lets them laugh, joke and match wits with beloved characters from the hit Disney/Pixar film Monsters, Inc.. New preview dates have not been released at this time.

- It's a Boy at Disney’s Animal Kingdom!-
The Walt Disney World animal care team welcomed a healthy baby White Rhinoceros to Disney's Animal Kingdom family last week. Kendi, an eight year old White Rhino gave birth to her second baby – a male named Tom, on January 4th. Tom, the Rhino, was named in honor of Dr. Tom Foose, President of the International Rhino Foundation. The new addition is the sixth White Rhino born at Disney's Animal Kingdom, and his mother, Kendi, was the first. Look for Kendi and Tom to join the other rhinos on the savannah at Disney's Animal Kingdom soon.

- 'Fuel For Thought' Exhibit Opens at Epcot -
General Motors brings the wonder of fuel cell technology, hybrid vehicles and ethanol-powered cars and trucks to life with the newly opened "Fuel For Thought" display at the Test Track pavilion at Epcot. The exhibit features unique, interactive components about advanced automotive technology and the road to a greener future. Touch-screen games and interactive kiosks provide information about fuel cells, hybrids, E85 and different GM environmental activities throughout the world.

- Rockin' Both (Disneyland Resort) Parks -
As part of the "Year of A Million Dreams" celebration at Disneyland Resort, rock fans' dreams will come true as "Rockin' Both Parks" provides new special effects and soundtracks specifically remixed to heighten every twist, turn, rise and drop of each thrilling attraction. For a limited time (from January 3 through April 26, 2007), guests will experience Space Mountain at Disneyland and California Screamin' at Disney's California Adventure like never before.

Happy New Year! I hope that all of you had a wonderful Holiday Season! The Water Cooler was a festive place during November and December with lots of Holiday threads springing up.

Christmas topics showed up as early as November 2nd, with DVC2004’s thread –“Christmas Music Already!” and mamacon67’s November 6th post about Christmas commercials coming on too early. DisneyDudet told us that she made Chex Mix on November 11th and that meant the beginning of the Christmas Season to her. Others shared their traditions to kick off the season early: amd780 popped in her Christmas CDs, KCMom made fudge, and January-2007 had her tree up the first week of November.

Other holiday topics included Where do you put your Christmas tree?, How early do you decorate?, What’s on Your Christmas List?, Do you attend your work’s holiday party?, and Christmas decorating ideas. And it just wouldn’t be Christmas at INTERCOT if SgtTigger didn’t bring up the What do you have for Christmas breakfast? topic (aka the Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls topic). So remember us in the Water Cooler next Holiday Season – you will be sure to find the answer to your holiday questions!

Did you know that November was Peanut Butter Month and Aviation History Month? Daily celebrations included National Chicken Lady Day, Married to a Scorpio Support Day, Homemade Bread Day, Have a Bad Day Day and Stay Home Because You’re Well Day. Thank you Jeanne for sharing the celebrations with us!

Tink&Goofy wanted to know are you a Snoozer? The general concensus was two to four times, with some exceptions. SteelyGirl even admitted to hitting her snooze for 90 minutes! Then there were some who don’t snooze at all, but get up before their alarm goes off like PolyGirl40, aprilisis, DVC2004,Ghost*Hostess, Mickey’sGirl, AvonleaCF, DisneyCrazyET and RazdOnDis. So, how many times do you hit the “Snooze” button each morning?

Jamie’s Friday parties for November and December included the Dudes Do the Dining Party, the Very Valiant Veterans Day Vestivities, the Official INTERCOT Thanksgiving Celebration and the long-running Deck the Halls Holiday Extravaganza that ran for four weeks, and finally the Annual INTERCOT New Year’s Eve Party to wrap up the year. Thanks for a great year of parties, Jamie!
