Chest, on July 7. Captain Jack Sparrow and his nemesis Barbossa will be

Across
the Boards with Figment! >>
Welcome back to another installment of Across the Boards. In this
installment let’s take a look at some FAQ’s regarding signatures.
Q: What is a signature?
A: A signature is a set of text that appears at the bottom of
your posts. This is can serve as a send off, your favorite quote or a list
of all the trips you have taken to Disney World. Making a signature allows
you to have the desired text appear at the bottom of each post with out
having to re-type it every time you make a post.
Q: How to I make or change a signature?
A: To make a signature or to change an existing one the processes is
essentially the same. First click on “User CP” on the top left corner of the
blue bar on the main forum page. From there click on the “ Edit Signature”
option at the top of the menu on the left hand side of the screen. Once here
you will find a page that looks like a reply form. All of the features like
font color, font style, bold, italic and underline work the same way when
making a signature as they do when making a post. Simply fill in the field
and then click the ‘Save Signature” button when you are finished.
Q: Can I use smilies in my signature?
A: Smilies will not show up in signatures, however; their code will.
The smilies menu does not show up in the signature box, but you can copy and
paste smilies from other posts into your signature box. When you save your
changes the name of the smilie will appear inside of colons (Ex. :mickey: ).
One trick that some INTERCOTee’s use is after pasting the smilie in,
highlighting it then select different font features. For instance if
highlightthe “mickey” smilie and then select the font color blue and bold
the text :mickey: would appear in your signature.
Q: Can I post a link or my e-mail address in my signature?
A: No, hyperlinks and e-mail address are not allowed in member
signatures per the terms of service agreement. The only exception are links
to other parts of INTERCOT and INTERCOT sponsors.
Q: Is there a limit on how big my signature can be?
A: Yes, signatures cannot contain more than 300 characters (spaces
are counted as characters). In addition, please be courteous in the visual
length of your signature. It is not good board etiquette to makes others
scroll through excessively long signatures to simply get to the next post.
Q: Can I post pictures in my signature?
A: No. In order to keep INTERCOT a family friendly site images have
been disabled in member signatures.
Q: Can I can control if signature appears in some posts, but not in
others?
A: Yes. Underneath each reply form there is a check box labeled
“Show your signature”; when this box is checked your signature appears, when
it is unchecked your signature does not appear.
Until next time, happy browsing around the boards and see ya real soon

Hopefully you’re not buried in snow while reading this! January seemed
like sort of a quiet month in the Water Cooler but here’s a few of the
month’s happenings:
Did you know that January was National Hot Tea Month, National Hobby Month
and National Get Organized Month? Other celebrations in January included
National Take Back Your Time Week, Word Nerd Day, National Cowboy Poetry
Gathering Week, Bean Day, Cuddle Up Day, Old Rock Day, Feast of Fabulous
Wild Men Day, Hunt for Happiness Week and Diet Resolution Week. Thank you
Rhonda for filling in for Lizzy this month!
Speaking of Diet Resolution Week, have you stopped in an INTERCOT Diet Club
meeting lately? Each Monday, Pongo starts a new thread on the week’s
progress. Members support each other with their trials, their losses, tips
on exercise and healthy recipes. How do you join? Just post and you’re a
member!
What was your first memory? Selly asked the question and received some very
interesting responses. Vacation Dad: “Being put down for a nap at Grandmas
house and falling asleep to the tick tock of a Big Ben wind up clock. It's
still one of the most comforting sounds I know today.” JanetMegan: “3 years
old, at preschool, sticking my fingers in an electric socket-which might
explain a LOT of things.” ElenitaB: “My first memory is from just around my
third birthday. My dad loved fishing and took me and my brother with him
often. I remember being on the pier with him, with a bloodsucker worm
hanging off my right pointer finger and crying for him to take it off!” Cool
topic – thanks Selly!
Jamie’s Friday parties for January included the Because It’s a Friday,
Friday Party, the Blame Casey for Everything Party, INTERCOT’s Hug-a-Bug
Party, and the Family Friendly Fun PAY-Place Party. Stop in this Friday and
see what Jamie and Nigel have in store for us!
Why do you post on INTERCOT? NJMan66 posted the question and the responses
ranged from the obvious (planning your Disney vacation) to the humorous (Mr
Tom Morrow: “I post for you guys...It just wouldn't be the same without
me.”) to the honest (TikiGoddess: “This is the only board I post
on...honestly, I've tried some other sites but Intercot has the best caliber
people around! Intelligent discussions, people who care, people who can
spell (this is important to me!), and of course, more Disney information
than you can shake a stick at.”) Basically, most of our members come to
INTERCOT and stay because of the people and our great “community” feeling.
We hope you all stick around for a long time to come!
January posting milestones were reached by PolyGirl40 – 33,000 posts,
ChipnDaleGal – 17,000 posts, Jeff – 13,000 posts, MauiMouse –13,000 posts,
DizneyFreak2002 – 7,000 posts, mrsgaribaldi – 2,000 posts, Katzateer – 2,000
