Across
the Boards with Figment! >>
Welcome back to another installment of Across the Boards. In this
installment let’s take a look at how to pick an avatar (aka how to get one
of those cool pictures to appear by your username). First click on the “User
CP” link at the left hand side of the tool bar at the top of every
discussion board page. This link has taken you to your control panel, you
can do a number of other features from here, but let’s just focus on this
one for now.
On the left hand side of the control panel there is a link that reads “Edit
Avatar” click here to pick your avatar for the first time or to change your
avatar to something different. Once here you will find a drop down menu and
a number of avatars being displayed in a window below the menu. First from
the menu select a category: Disney Avatars, WDW Parks, WDW Resorts, Other
Attractions, Mickey & Friends, Muppets, General Avatars, Animals & Nature or
Holiday/Seasons. Once a category is selected the window below will showcase
a portion of the avatars in that category.
To navigate use the bottom right
corner of the window which will display the number of pages in that
category. To view another page, simply click on the page number and the next
page of avatars will appear. Once you have found an avatar you like, click
on the white bubble underneath it so that it is selected. Finally click the
“Save Changes” button at the bottom of the page and your new avatar will
appear next to your screen name in all of your posts.
Until next time, happy browsing around the boards and see ya real soon

Happy New Year! I
hope that all of you had an enjoyable Holiday Season!
December topics in the Water Cooler generally centered on holiday
activities. Momof2boys wanted to know what was on your family’s Christmas
list? Her boys asked for a junior weight set, CD player, Star Wars Light
Saber and Connect 4. Twinprincess’ kids didn’t want presents – just a trip
to Disneyland (smart kids!) DVC2004’s family wished for Gameboy games,
Pyrates stuff, Hot Wheels King Kong track and the XBOX 360. Katzateer just
wanted a job for her husband. TikiGoddess’ girls wanted craft supplies,
pajamas while all she wished for was a trip to WDW and a couple days of
peace and quiet. And of course, JimmyC just wants coal! I hope that all of
you got what you wished for!
Thanks to SgtTigger for bringing up the traditional INTERCOT Pillsbury
Cinnamon Rolls topic! It just wouldn’t be Christmas at INTERCOT without that
discussion!
Lizzy’s celebrations for December included Bingo’s Birthday Month,
International Languages Week, Hand Washing Awareness Week, Barbie and Barney
Backlash Day, Mudd Day, Bathtub Party Day, and National Chocolate Day. Why
celebrate the “normal” holidays when you can celebrate Lizzy-style?
The Water Cooler was very festive in December thanks to Jamie’s Friday
parties! She kicked off the month with the Official Holiday Decorating
Party, then let us relax at the Holiday Shopping Pit Stop. We got all of our
gifts wrapped at the Boxes and Bows, Wrapping in Rows Party, and celebrated
at INTERCOT’s Official Christmas Eve Eve Party. We ended the year with the
New Year’s Eve Eve Party. Thanks Jamie and Nigel for a wonderful, wacky year
of great parties!
Do you remember your first post on INTERCOT? five all-the-way wanted to know
and received a lot of answers! Diznee4Me’s was about the Coronado Springs
Resort, PirateLover’s was a question about the Caribbean Beach Resort and
Vacation Dad’s was a question about the best pool for his 9-year old.
Appropriately, PolyGirl40’s first post was a question on the Polynesian’s
pool construction and she even remembered who answered – DisneyWizard! Then
there were the bunches of us: C & H, minnie-mouse, DVC2004, Melanears,
ChipnDaleGal, offwego, Lizzy, MickeysGirl and me who couldn’t remember! A
lot of water has passed through the Cooler since we joined INTERCOT!
Congratulations to Terra on her engagement and to Ghost*Hostess on winning
the “Lights Before Christmas” house decorating contest! We’re all proud of
you!
December posting milestones were reached by PolyGirl40 – 32,000 posts,
Melanears – 25,000 posts, faline – 15,000 posts, Lizzy – 8,000 posts,
MNNHFLTX – 7,000 posts, Piglet822 – 6,000 posts. DizneyFreak2002 – 6,000
posts, drummerboy – 3,000 posts, Disneygirl2290 – 1,000 posts, Hammer –
1,000 posts, and WDWTEXAS – 100 posts. Congratulations to all of you on the
great posting!
That about wraps it up for December and for 2005! Let’s all have a healthy,
successful and fun 2006!
