<< Introduction >>
The back to school sales are here already. Another summer has melted by
again, to fold gently into fall. Or, where I live, the humidity will go
kicking and screaming followed by biting cold with no transition. 95 one
day, 20 the next.
The cumulative Disney trips taken by our members this summer is astounding!
I recently spoke to a young daughter of one of our members just as they
returned from their first trip to WDW. I asked her what her favorite thing
about the trip was and she responded, "Either the Magic Kingdom or
everything."
I think that about sums it up. Remember, just because your trip is over
doesn't mean you should stop posting! We'd love you to share your
experiences and expertise with helping our fellow members plan their next
trip. With the combined experiences of all of our members, we've created the
greatest vacation planning spot on the web!
In this edition of The Insider, we've got another great vacation offer for
you, a look at this month's events with DisneyWizard (and there are some
really important announcements this month, so be sure to check it out),
Polygirl40 gives us the lowdown on the latest site improvements, TiggerRPh
passes on a tip that's so easy even JimmyC can do it without putting down
his cookie. And, of course, our resident Diva of Dish, gives us all the
latest and greatest on you, our members.

<< Disney World Events with DisneyWizard >>
While July was a little slow for news and events in Walt Disney World,
August has brought about three very big pieces of news. Read below for more
information and for our own INTERCOTees' reactions.
-Mission: Space soft openings started-
Mission: Space has officially opened to the public with soft openings moved
a little earlier than previously announced. This comes as good news to
anyone who wants to ride the new thrill attraction and shows promising that
another "Test Track" opening incident is improbable. Mission: Space should
now be open during operational hours, so be sure to check in with INTERCOT
if you got to take a spin! WDWacky has written up a nice report on his
experience on the ride in trip reports.
"I'm looking forward to everyone's reactions to Mission: Space!" --TinkRocks
"Looking forward to riding Mission: SPACE this fall!" --Noah's Helper
"I hope it has a better first run than Test Track!" --WhiteRose1
-New priority seating policy implemented-
A huge change has occurred in Walt Disney World Dining: priority seatings
for most every restaurant in Walt Disney World can only be made out 90 days
in advance. The only exceptions to this new rule are dinner shows, Lunch
With a Disney Artist, Bistro de Paris, and Victoria & Alberts. The 90-day
period even applies to character breakfasts, Fantasmic! dinner packages,
Grand Floridian kid's programs, and childcare facilities. Not affected are
recreational activities and Downtown Disney restaurants.
"Wow, this is all a little confusing and somewhat overwhelming when you are
new to all this!!" --ConorsMom "Does anyone besides me think going to Disney
World is just getting way too complicated?" --Aurora
A detailed Priority Seating Grid can be found in Info Central.

-New fireworks display to debut-
In October 2003 Wishes, the new fireworks show in the Magic Kingdom, will
launch into the skies. Several times larger than Fantasy in the Sky, Wishes
will use new launch sites and new pyrotechnic effects. And don't worry:
everyone's favorite pixie will still fly over the Magic Kingdom before each
display.
"This sounds wonderful!" -Melanears
"Changes are great, something to really look forward to." -Jillpie
"Don't know when I'll get to see it, but it'll be something fun to look
forward to!" -pureimagination

Don't forget to check out our recent updates. All of the Disney Nightlife
pages have been modified. Many more details and times are now available. We
also added a credit card grid to the Priority Seating Arrangement page. If
you are confused about what restaurants or shows require a credit card to
secure your seating, take a look.

<< Bytes & Pieces with TiggerRPh >>
Theme music to Dragnet playing in the background....
The website: INTERCOT, a friendly Disney internet community, home to Mickey
Mouse and thousands of Disney fans. My job: to keep peace among the
faithful. My name is TiggerRPh, I'm a moderator.
Last month we learned how to play nice and follow the Terms of Service. So,
how do you get a hold of one of the moderators if you discover a problem
post on the boards?
On the main Discussion Board page, the moderators for each forum are listed
on the right side. Each screen name listed is a link to that particular
moderator's profile. Listed in the profile is that moderator's email address
as an email link. Inside each particular forum under the forum heading on
the upper left of the page, the moderators for that forum are again listed
with the same link to their profiles. Please remember to include a link to
the thread/post if you use these methods.
The easiest way to contact a moderator about a post is to use the "Report
Post" function of the boards. At the bottom of each post, to the right is a
little whistle. If you click "Report Post" next to that whistle, a message
window will open. Just type in your message, then click "Send Email Now" and
your message with a link to that post will be sent to every moderator for
that forum.
We moderators try to cover the boards as much as we can, but sometime we
just can't be everywhere all the time. We encourage you to notify us if you
see something that doesn't seem right or appropriate for the boards.
Together we can keep INTERCOT a great family friendly community.
.... Dum-de-dum-dum. Dum-de-dum-dum-dum!
<< Off Topic with Dizneyana >>
I'm back!! My first order of business is to thank Jane (ChipDale) for
filling in for me for the past two months. She did a great job, don't you
think?? THANKS JANE!! :)
Well, let's get right into July's happenings around the Water Cooler.. There
is a lot to report!! We found out that Vancouver, BC was awarded the honor
of hosting the 2010 Winter Olympics. I'm sure that there are going to be
some big changes made up here in the Pacific Northwest to prepare for the
big event. disneynarula drank some of the Water Cooler water, and is now
expecting a little Disney fan due in February 2004. Congratulations!!
JanetMegan started a new exercise club that meets on Fridays. Pop in if you
want to share your weekly exercise goals, and/or get some motivation!!
JohnY unveiled the newest addition to our graemlin family, the Tiki God..
Thanks John, he seems to have been very well received by the INTERCOT
community!! AmBo wanted to know just exactly where people are when they get
their INTERCOT fix, and according to his poll, 36% are at work, 59% are at
home, and 2% are at other places. I think that there are some people that
access from work that were afraid to vote!! ;) Krispy Kremes have been
spotted being sold in some local grocery stores in addition to being able to
buy them at a KK shop (but nothing beats a fresh hot one!!) Look out Diet
Club, you may be getting some new members soon!! WDW crazy announced getting
a Mickey Mouse tattoo, and several other members revealed their body art.
HotSS was due for some surgery and was curious about anesthesia, so many
members shared their experiences. Hope all went well for him. On a sad note,
we lost more of Hollywood's History this month with the death of Buddy Ebsen
at age 95, Bob Hope at age 100, and Director John Schlesinger at age 77.
They will all be missed.
Speaking of being missed, JimmyC has been MIA quite a bit lately, and popped
in to say that he won't be assigning INTERCOT creatures to people reaching
posting milestones due to his busy schedule. Everyone is to turn the
creatures that we have over to Jeff (JPL) and he will take care of them. I'm
not sure that Jeff was consulted on this decision, so those of you that feel
that you can handle what you have, please do so!! We miss you Jimmy, hope
you can come back and spend more time with us soon!! So, without further
delay, let's see who had posting milestones for July: ChipDale -- 26K,
PolyGirl40 -- 19K, Dizneyana -- 17K, Beast_fanatic -- 17K, TiggerRPh -- 15K,
MickeysGirl -- 7K, dpamac -- 5K, Dopeysfriend -- 4K, disneydeb -- 3K,
mikki.young -- 2K, MauiMouse -- 2K, and mickeyd -- 1K. Congratulations to
all you happy posters!!
There sure were a lot of July babies born in this month over the years, so
let's wish them all a happy day!! ThisKnee, Dad, AtlDisneyPHreak, VickiP,
Joyce47, darthdarrel, hubbyofadisneyholic, NYdaily, ckret1, WDWacky,
Kourtnie, roses, Freetime, DADx3, TheSorcererofFantasia, Mickey's Chick,
Smassadi, GoofysCowgirl, Rhetoric2000, disney98, PrincessJasmine, Skippy,
Disneypro, EvaBryan, cosmic ray, Tinkerbell23, roryjulie,
DisneyFanaticDargon, Dawn, JanetMegan, and a VERY special HAPPY BIRTHDAY to
where it all started 48 years ago.. at DISNEYLAND which celebrated its
birthday on July 17th.
That about does it for me until next time. I'm glad to be back, and I'll see
you all next month!! Keep enjoying the summer!! I now return you to the real
topic..
<< Conclusion >>
That does it for another edition of The Insider. We'll be back again later
this month with some travel tips to our favorite destination. Plus, one of
our favorite English ladies gives us a look at a not so traditional
vacation. At least, not for some of us.
Now go put those kids on the bus and tell them to eat their lunch!
Stay tuned! See you real soon!
