    Default 9/23~ Magic Kingdom~ Engagement

    9/23: Magic Kingdom

We started the day bright and early with a wake up call at 6:30 am. We were down to the bus stop by 7:15 am. We had a breakfast reservation at Crystal Palace for 8:10 am. We ran a little late getting to our reservation as it took longer than I had expected to get from the French Quarter to the Magic Kingdom. We ended up checking in about 8:15 am. I thought that we were going to be waiting a while. There were lots of people waiting. Plus they called a party of 32 right before us. We ended up waiting only about 10 minutes. Gave me a chance to get some pictures of the restaurant and the castle.

Once we were seated our server Vinnie came right away and explained the buffet to us and got our drinks. We both got a coke, needed something to wake us up for the long day ahead. Then we headed to the buffet. It was your normal breakfast food. They did seem to have a couple odd things though. Lots of variety of food. We even tried the salmon it was okay nothing I would get all the time. I am not a fish eater though. Alan loved the cinnamon balls and the buttery biscuits. During the breakfast we saw Tigger, Pooh, and Piglet. Eeyore somehow missed our area. So I asked our server about seeing him. And then he told the manager. We were told to find him before we left. We paid the check using the dining plan. Would have cost us $47.29. We find the manager on our way out and she said as soon as he returned from break to get his attention. So we finally did get a picture with him. They also did the 100 acre woods birthday celebration while we were there.

As we are leaving I called Christi (tinksmom02) and said we’re running a little behind. We had planned to meet up at 9:15 am. We go get a locker and but our extra clothes in the locker. As we are going to get a locker we see Chip & Dale. We also saw some of the opening ceremony. I call Christi again and told them we are on our way to Pirates. Once we got to Pirates of the Caribbean we had to wait a couple minutes on Christi’s family as they were on another ride. We meet up about 9:30 am and Christi rode Pirates of the Caribbean with Alan & I. We then go into the gift shop. We had then planned to ride the Jungle Cruise with them but that didn’t work out as planned. We walked right on to Pirates.

After pirates we are headed to the Jungle Cruise when we run into Captain Hook & Smee so we had our picture made.
    http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a24...2/CIMG1520.jpg

Then we run across the Pirate Tutorial. So we watched that. The guy playing Captain Jack looks a lot like him but does not sound like him. After the tutorial we had our picture made with Captain Hook & Smee. We also had our picture done with Captain Jack. He sounded and looked like the real deal! We finally make it to the Jungle Cruise we only had to wait about 5 minutes. We had a pretty good skipper, Julie. We then did the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse, Tiki room, and rode the train from Main Street to Toontown.

While at Main Street I went to guest relations to see about getting any table services for the 25th since we didn’t use the one at Boatwright’s. We were able to get one for Prime Time at 11:30 am.

We then went into Mickey’s House and had our picture taken with Mickey in the Judge’s Tent. We also had our picture taken with Goofy, Donald, and Pluto and the Fair.

Then we went to Minnie’s House. After Minnie’s House we started to head back to Main Street for the parade, we got a snack of fries and a drink at Village Fry Shoppe. While we are there it started raining on us. So then we start to walk toward the castle and they stop everyone because the parade is going to begin soon. So we luck out and get a front row spot at the very start of the parade loop. Got some awesome pictures, even if it was raining during the parade.

After the parade we went to Mickey’s Philharmagic and got our picture done with Ariel. Did this for my best friend who absolutely loves Ariel. While waiting for the picture it starts raining again on us. And no one bothers to tell us that Ariel went on break. As the sign said 20 minute wait. Ended up being more like 45 minutes. This was the longest we waited for anything the whole trip.

After Ariel we went back to the locker and got fresh shirt. Then we headed down to the boat dock for the Wilderness Lodge about 4:30. We were on the boat about 4:45. Once we got to Wilderness Lodge we found the restaurant and got checked in about 5:15 pm. We had reservations at 5:40 pm. Then I went to the gift shop while waiting. Then after I was done with that we just waited in the waiting area of the restaurant. Took 40 minutes to be seated. Longest wait we had at any restaurant. Our server was Rusty Raphael, he was very good and liked to joke and play around. He explained the dining plan to us and what we could get. Then he came and got our drink order. When he brought our drinks back he threw straws and napkins on the table. We ordered: Appetizers: Alan~ cheese/sausage plate, Brandie~ western chips & dip. Entrée~ Alan~ Prime rib, mashed potatoes, and vegetables. Brandie~ roast chicken, mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables. Desert~ Alan~ Chocolate Moose Stampede, Brandie~ Apple Carmel Pie. Everything was so good. Nothing was overdone. You could cut the prime rib with a fork and the chicken was so moist. This was the best meal we had all trip! We will be returning here. We paid with dining plan credit. If we hadn’t it would have cost us $ 87.56.

With having to take the boat to and from the wilderness lodge and then having to wait for the table our reservation ended up taking about 2.5 hours. I had hopped to be back to Magic Kingdom for wishes but that didn’t happen. Instead we was on the boat during wishes. It was a cool view, still would have rather been in the park to see them. Got back to Magic Kingdom about 8:15 pm and had to get in line to get our wrist bands for the evening magic hours. Once in the park we got our picture taken in front of the castle with it all lite up for the night.

    My big news: Engagement

I was trying to get some pictures of the Castle all lite up. So I turned and told Alan we could move on. Here we are in front of the castle with hardly anyone around. And he grabs me in his arms. Then he puts a ring box in front of my face. At first I wasn’t realizing what he was doing. But once I did he says to me so will you? My response what do you think! So after we kiss we just stand there for a minute in each others arms. He says I was actually speechless for a few seconds. He took me by surprise on this one. I had no ideal he was planning on proposing while we were in Disney World. He said he had the ring for 6 months lol. He had been planning all along to do it in Disney World. He had hopped to be able to do it in front of the castle and it just happened that it worked out that way.

Now for you all asking why didn’t he get on one knee? Well neither Alan or I like a lot of attention brought to ourselves and he wanted it to be a kinda private thing. You also have to know Alan and getting down on one knee is just not him. However, I couldn’t think of a more romantic way to do it than he did.

    The ring~ 1/4 kt 14 kt yellow gold floating diamond~ I can't do big rings,small hands
    http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a24...2/CIMG3032.jpg

The rest of the night we did The Laugh Floor Comedy Club, Big Thunder Mountain, Haunted Mansion, and Splash Mountain.

About 11:00 pm we headed for the gates to get to our bus stop. Got back to our room about 11:30 pm. By the time both of us got cleaned up it was about 12:30-1 am before we both were in bed.

Congratulations!! I am so happy for you and Alan. I wasn't proposed to in front of the castle, but we did get married on the Pointe at Poly just before Wishes!! I was so romantic!! We took the fireworks cruise as our after party, we had wedding cake and sparkling cider. Then we went to the GF lobby and did pictures with the carriage, grand staircase and had a great time. This was not an expensive wedding by any means, but it was worth it in more than money! It was small and intimate, just 10 of us.

I hope to hear of wedding plans and WDW honeymoon soon!!

    Again, !!

thanks for all the well wishes! It will probably be another year or two before the actual wedding. As we want to get our house built/buy one before and I also want to be done with college. I'll be done next October! 10 classes left and counting!

Congratulations, Brandie! I bet you'll never forget this trip!

I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed Whispering Canyon. It always seems to take longer, but we've never had a bad meal or service here.

You had a really full, really wonderful day today!
