Waterfront District Coming to
Downtown Disney
It
was announced today, work will begin soon on a completely re-imagined
Pleasure Island and other one-of-a-kind experiences as Walt Disney World
Resort continues to bring new stories to life at Downtown Disney. Combined,
the projects are expected to create an estimated 1,200
new jobs over the
next three years. A nostalgic yet modern take on an early 20th century port
city and amusement pier will evolve Pleasure Island into Hyperion Wharf. By
day, the district will draw guests in with its stylish boutiques and
innovative restaurants and by night, thousands of lights will transform the
area into an electric wonderland.

Artist Jim Shore to Appear at
Walt Disney World and Disneyland
The
award-winning artist Jim Shore will be making appearances at both Walt
Disney World and Disneyland. A large part of Shore's widespread recognition
comes from his 2005 partnership with Disney. Disney Traditions by Jim Shore
is one of the most successful co-branded lines in the specialty retail
market. "I'm extremely proud of my association with Disney," Jim says of the
relationship. "I can't think of a more important name in American popular
culture, it's a privilege for me to be linked with that kind of tradition."
Disney Traditions by Jim Shore has sold more than $50 million at retail and
can be found at Disney parks and at fine retailers throughout North America,
Europe, Australia and Asia.
Walt Disney World Appearances: Friday-Sunday, December 3-5. Disneyland
Appearances: Saturday & Sunday, November 20-21.

"Hundred Acre Goods" Opens
Today
New
enhancements to The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh area are underway.
The changes include a re-designed load area and a re-imagined gift shop
called "Hundred Acre Goods". The store specializes in apparel, toys, plush
characters and collectibles featuring Pooh and the gang. Beginning
Thanksgiving week, guests will start their adventure through the Hundred
Acre Wood by jumping with Tigger, crawling through Eeyore's house and
playing in Rabbit's garden before they board the attraction. These
renovations will have a temporary impact on FASTPASS distribution which will
not be available until the enhanced queue opens.

"Cuddliest
Christmas Tree" on Earth
Walt
Disney World Resort launched its annual Toys for Tots collection drive today
with a little help from Duffy the Disney Bear, the U.S. Marine Corps, Walt
Disney World Ambassador Clay Shoemaker and VoluntEARS, creating the
Cuddliest Christmas Tree.ť The tree stands 20-feet-high, 10-foot-wide made
of 1,200 stuffed Duffy bears. The annual toy drive is one of many charitable
activities underway at Walt Disney World Resort during the Season of Sharing
that focuses on improving the lives of local children and their families
during the holidays and beyond.

"Walt
Disney: One Man's Dream" Re-Opens
"Walt Disney:
One Man’s Dream" at Disney's Hollywood Studios has reopened. The
one-of-a-kind showcase of the history of Walt Disney and The Walt Disney
Company has retained its original focus, but has a new look and feel. A
favorite of the project team, is the new WED Imagineering Workshop,ť
featuring portions of the original model for It's a small world” at
Disneyland Park, and the actual Audio-Animatronics Abraham Lincoln figure
that debuted in the 1964/65 New York World's Fair. A new area called The
Legacy Continues will focus on The Walt Disney Company highlights from the
1970s through today, and debuts next month. The film tribute One Man's
Dream, hosted by Julie Andrews remains.
