Star Wars Weekend Event Schedule Released
Disney has released
the event times guide for the upcoming Star Wars Weekends, kicking off June
1, 2007. Villains and heroes from the entire Star Wars saga will roam the
theme park and participate in autograph sessions, parades and photo
opportunities. Young Padawans will be given the chance to participate in
Jedi Training Academy and test their skills in a climactic battle against
the evil Siths. Also enjoy; presentations on the making of the Star Wars
films, Star Wars trivia contests and a Hyperspace Hoopla party each evening
at 7PM. Star Wars Weekends are included with regular Disney-MGM Studios
admission.

6 injured Evacuating Kali River Rapids
Five Walt Disney World
guests and an employee were transported to the hospital Tuesday morning
after the Kali River Rapids ride at Animal Kingdom malfunctioned during an
evacuation routine. During a sensor prompted evacuation, a platform designed
to help transfer guests from the ride to the exit stairs malfunctioned
causing minor injuries. Disney spokeswoman Kim Prunty said the reason the
ride stopped and how the evacuation platform malfunctioned is being
investigated and the company will use an alternative method to evacuate
people from the ride if necessary. The 6 injured have been released from the
hospital and the attraction re-opened.

Disney Parks Providing Extra Loot for Pirates!
Beginning
Friday, May 25, 2007, both Disneyland and Walt Disney World consumers who
bring their Nintendo DS and "At World's End" game to the Pirates of the
Caribbean ride will be able to seek out 10 secured wireless hot spots to
download free exclusive game content that won't be available anywhere else.
The gaming stations will be marked with a Pirates "X" at different areas
through Labor Day at both parks. There will be three different downloads
available around the theme park ride, including one that gamers can access
while standing in line for the Pirates ride that inspired the films and
games.

Summer Passholder Discounts Announced
Disney
has released room-only discounts, at select resorts, for Annual Passholders.
The
deluxe resorts available are; Yacht Club, Beach Club, Old Key West and
Saratoga Springs. Rates begin at $194+ per night.
Travel dates are June 3rd - August 4th, 2007. Ask for code FDK.
Moderate Resorts travel dates run from July 1- August 4th and begin at $139+
per night. The code for Moderate resorts is FDI.

Tusker House to Host Two New Buffets!
Tusker House
Restaurant at Animal Kingdom is being converted from a quick-service
restaurant to a buffet restaurant. Beginning November 18th, it will offer a
character breakfast buffet, called Donald's Safari Breakfast, and a
lunch/dinner buffet. Tusker House will be closed from August 20 through
November 16, 2007 for the renovations. Donald's Breakfastosaurus character
breakfast at Restaurantosaurus will be discontinued after November 5.

WDWacky is a Cinderella Castle Suite Winner!
INTERCOT's very
own Senior Imagineer, WDWacky and his family, won a night in the Castle
while vacationing at Walt Disney World this week! Ian just so happened to be
in the right place at the right time. The location on Sunday was the fourth
seat on Expedition: Everest as it rolled into the station. Ian was
immediately approached by the Dream Squad. And so began his whirlwind of a

Disney World Resort Hotels Go Smoke-Free
All
Walt Disney World Resorts, including Disney Vacation Club Resorts, will
become smoke-free on June 1, 2007. The new policy applies to all guest
rooms, patios, and balconies, and designates outdoor smoking areas at all
resorts affected by the change. During the past five years Guest demand for
smoking rooms has been declining steadily. With more than 20 Disney owned
and operated resorts on property; this represents the largest single site
resort complex to institute this type of smoking policy change.
