New
Years At Disney World
Walt
Disney World Resort ushers in 2004 with a dazzling display of entertainment,
parades, fireworks, thrills and extended hours throughout the Vacation
Kingdom.
In the spirit of the "dropping ball" in Times Square, Epcot guests
experience a special New Year's Eve Countdown Spectacular -- while both
Epcot and Magic Kingdom also feature an earlier evening fireworks
spectacular so that families with children can join in the revelry before
they retire.

Wonders
of Life Moving To Seasonal Operation - Room Rates Discounted for 2004 The Orlando Sentinel is reporting that the Walt Disney World Resort,
anticipating the seasonal slowdown in tourism that begins right after New
Year's Day, will slash rates at its new Pop Century Resort and its three All
Star Resorts to a rock bottom $55 a night and will temporarily move its
Wonders of Life pavilion at Epcot to "seasonal operation". Is this the
first step towards the "Horizonization" of the pavilion?

Magic
of Disney Animation Tour Reopens - Only Ghosts Left... Disney-MGM Studio's backstage tour of its animation facility reopened last
month with a new tour featuring Mushu from the animated film Mulan, but
there's one thing missing: Animators. Walt Disney Studios halted production
in November on its long-troubled animated project, A Few Good Ghosts,
raising questions about the future of the Orlando facility and its 258
artists. When INTERCOT staff members recently asked where the artists were,
tour guides responded "they're taking a break in between productions".
Disney is expected to announce "a more concrete plan" for the Orlando
animation studio by January.

Pop
Century Comes on December 14th After being put on the back burner due to a variety of economic reasons,
Disney’s Pop Century Resort (click here or on the logo at right for a resort
map) is finally opening to the public on December 14th with Cast Member
previews this week. An addition to its value resorts offerings, with rooms
starting at $77 a night (depending up on the season), the Pop Century Resort
is an amalgam of all of our childhood memories. From 45s (remember, those
vinyl things with a big hole in the center that played music), to enormous
Rubik’s Cubes and a towering Yo-Yo or two, Pop Century is bound to play a
nostalgic string or two from your past. We hear it has a killer food-court
too.
