Grand Floridian Makeover
Walt Disney World's most upscale resort, the Grand Floridian which first
opened in 1988 has been undergoing a renovation project since May of last
year. According to Disney, the resort's facelift will be completed by years
end. Items updated during the renovation include new furniture, wallpaper
and carpeting along with a fresh coat of paint and new roofing.

Sentinal Reports "Roller Coaster For Animal Kingdom"
According to a
story in today's paper, Walt Disney World`s Animal Kingdom is planning its
first roller coaster. The new ride called Primeval Whirl, would be in the
located in the park's DinoLand U.S.A. area and would be part of a new
section, called Dino-Rama, that would also include a spinning ride for kids.
Sources state the new attractions are expected to open by mid-2002

Hurricane Track Storm Center Opens For Another Season
In an effort to keep you up to date with the latest information about
hurricanes that may effect your vacation plans, Intercot has again opened
its popular Hurricane Track Storm Center. Check the latest status of
Tropical Storm Debby which has been moving on a path that could see it
heading towards Florida and the Bahamas.

Island during the sixth annual Latin Rhythm Nights celebration Sept. 14-16.
Charles Zaa, Oscar d' Leon, Gisselle and Luis Fonsi headline a lineup of
popular Latin acts and rising stars during the three-night festival at Walt
Disney World Resort.

Disney Marathon and Half Marathon at Capacity; Registration Closes With
Largest Field in Event History
Registration for the 2001 Walt Disney World Marathon and Half Marathon,
scheduled for Jan. 7, 2001, has reached capacity and is closed, according to
race officials. The event will feature its largest field since its inception

Disney’s Expands FASTPASS System
Disney’s FASTPASS, the revolutionary, computerized virtual queuing system
that’s winning over guests and winning awards is being added to two popular
Walt Disney World attractions soon (Muppet Vision 3D and The Haunted
Mansion), with two more rides slated to be added to the FASTPASS system
before the holidays. This will bring the total number of FASTPASS
attractions to 19.

Disney has
officially announced its E-Ride schedule. September 5, 12, 19 & 25
(7pm-10pm). E-Ride
Nights are an exclusive "private party" in the Magic Kingdom for a limited
number of Walt Disney World Resort Guests.

November Park Hours and Events Schedule Released
Details
have been announced for the Walt Disney World Resort's November schedule
which includes such exciting events as Holidays Around the World: a
worldwide whirlwind of holiday fun at Epcot, The Osborne Family Spectacle of
Lights: the worlds largest residential holiday light display and the
Downtown Disney Festival of the Masters: one of the top juried shows in the
Southeast, with over 150 award-winning artists.

Magic
Kingdom Offers Four Fresh New Sounds
Four musical acts have debuted in the Magic Kingdom, offering guests a
variety of sounds. The new groups include The Main Street Philharmonic, a
12-piece brass and percussion ensemble playing in Town Square, The
Tomorrowland Blast belting out rock 'n' roll tunes, The Fantasyland Woodwind
Society, a quartet of saxophonists playing Disney favorites, and The
Notorious Banjo Brothers…and Bob, two banjo players and a tuba player, who
entertain guests in Frontierland with a comical twist.

Holiday
Parties @ Walt Disney World
During
Halloween and Christmas, the Magic Kingdom becomes even more magical as it
plays host to
Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party and
Mickey's Very Merry
Christmas Party. Both of these events include specially themed parades
and fireworks shows. The parties, which occur after normal park hours,
require separate admission and often sell out.

Lights, Camera, Auction at Downtown Disney West Side
For guests
looking for a piece of Hollywood history, Starabilias located in Downtown
Disney West Side will hold its first world-class memorabilia auction on Aug.
4-5. Approximately 600 lots of rare and fine pieces of memorabilia to be
auctioned include the Original Santa Claus suit worn by Ed Gwenn in the 1947
film classic "Miracle on 34th Street", a Lou Gehrig game-worn jersey, J-200
guitar, owned and played by Elvis Presley and Cape worn by Burt Ward (Robin)
in the "Batman" television series.
