Question

I cant find reviews for this resort and am anxious to hear about it from Disneyaholics....already checked Frommer's, Epinions etc but I guess since it is a timeshare resort (mainly) that not many people are reporting. I am looking for information on the rooms, pools, childrens activities and prices, babysitting....just about everything!!!

Can someone enlighten me..?

Thanks.

Thumbs up

We stayed there!!! It was back in 2000. It is a timeshare. It's wonderful time share. Very clean and beautiful. We had a two bedroom. One was a King bed with a hot-tub (huge bathroom). Second one had a full bed and a pull out couch. The living was very spaceous and had a pull out queen bed. There was a dining area and a kitchen with a counter eating area. We had a balcony that about 4 people could sit comfortably. It was a really nice place. We borrowed it from an employer. The grounds were very nice. It had 3 pools. One is the biggest with saunas and hot tubs. There is a lake in the middle of the buildings. You can rent boats to cruise it. They boast a game room which in reality is just 5 or 6 video games and an air hockey table. Really not my idea of a game room. There is nightly activities scheduled which are interesting. There is a small store in the main building which is convenient but a little pricey. There's child service but we didn't utilize it. The timing from here to Disney and Sea World is wonderful!!! It's 10 minutes parking lot to parking lot. I recommend it. We actually thought about buying into it but the timing was not right. Did I answer your questions? If you have any specific ones, let me know. I do know there is another Marriot time share in the area. It's a lot more deluxe and $$$ than this one. But I like this one. Thanks for replying!!!!.....yes - more questions, does it have inside hallways.....would you suggest upper floor (and hope to see Seaworld) or first floor. We are a family with 4 children, 12, 11, 9 and 9. Did you notice any poolside activities - crafts, hair braiding? My sons will not be happy about the gameroom that is for sure. I know there are no slides in the pool but is there anything else - you know - squirty things. Do they provide pool towels. Any specific building recommendations? Is there a snack bar....I think I read that there is a bar (alchoholic I mean) - where is it located in relation to the pool area? Did you cook at all while you were there or get food delivery? Hmmmm - what else can I ask while I have you - LOL. I am very excited about this as we usually are VERY cramped when we go away. Oh - I know - did anyone in your party sleep on the sofabeds and were they comfortable do you think? (for a child, not adult).

THANK you so much!

We stayed at the Marriott Cypress Harbour at the end of 2000. We've stayed in two other condo complexes in Orlando, and Cypress Harbour was the nicest. They had several pools around the complex and a beautiful walkway over the lake. The pool by the clubhouse is heated, has a whirlpool and a volleyball net. It also has several frogs that squirt water at you. There were no slides but my 3 kids had a blast. They had a guy playing the steal drums and it really gave you a feel of being in the Caribbean. There was also a bar by the pool and my son loved getting non-alcholic Pina Coladas. They also had a grill and prepared food by the poolside. The other large pool had a big waterfall and a lap pool. It was not heated and was a bit cool for us in December. They had a sauna under where the waterfall was. My biggest regret was not being able to enjoy the grounds more. It was are first trip to Disney with the kids so we spent a ton of time in the parks. There is a Pizza Hut and a TCBY yogurt place on the grounds. I have some pictures from the Interval Travel guide that I will try to attach. If that doesn't work please email me at [email protected] and I will provide them if I can and answer any questions.

To my knowledge it does not have hallways. It's apartment like. We had the top floor. I liked it. The walls of course are not very thick and we could hear others at times. I would think that you would hear people above you more so.
We are a family of 5 and it was more than enough room. Children -Two were in the bedroom with their own beds and one was on the couch. As for pool activities, we were there in January and there were none. They did have activities at night (each night there was something). We spent so much time at the park that we didn't really get back to the resort to participate in activities. Pool towels were provided. The heated pool is beautiful!!! We actually had the whole pool to ourselves. The main house does have a snack bar, grocery store, bar area. There is not a bad complex that I saw. We were almost accross from the main building. We did no cooking. But there were some pots/pans and the bare necessities if you choose to. I would take staples with you though. Take dryer sheets and detergent (if you can). Take seasonings, coffee, sugar. These are a fortune if you have to buy them and what do you do with 100 sugar packets? The washer and dryer were great. Do pack a ton. You can do a load of clothes will your relaxing in your room when you get home. Dry it over night and your ready for the next day. (we overpacked, thinking we wouldn't do the wash). All the beds were comfortable. Your son will love renting a boat and paddling the lake. My son was 11 when he did that. I do know the person who owns the timeshare and uses it frequently. If you have a question you want answered and I can't do it, I will ask them. No biggy. I do have pictures of the rooms and the grounds that I could mail you. Email me separately with your address and I'll put them in the mail. When are you going? One note though we used a grocery store that was off of the Buena Vista exit. Ask at the desk about the other one. It's cheaper. Seaworld was minutes away. You can't beat the location. Next to staying at Disney is was great.

Hope you have a great time.

also, if you're a costco or sam's club member, they are about 3 or 4 miles away from Cypress Harbour on Orange Blossom Trail. I"m sure you could get directions from the front desk if you're not familliar with the area.

My family and I are owners of the Marriott Grand Vista but we have occasionally traded out for Cypress Harbour, and we absolutely love it. The grounds are beautiful, the rooms are really spacious and well kept, and its nice to have a "home away from home".

We stayed there just a few months ago, and it is our favorite off-site hotel we have ever stayed in. There are no indoor hallways. The rooms are huge, probably bigger than our house, with a good sized kitchen, hot tub, 3 tv's, very clean, freshly painted, vcr, 2 bathrooms, a huge screened in patio, which was nice, and a washer/dryer. For activities, there were tons for everyone. They had boating, a small game room, (small, but good games in my opinion, like pinball, basketball, air hockey, and tennis...)
Also there were many activities scheduled everyday which were extremely well organized, such as paddleboat races, air-hockey tournaments, ping-pong tournaments, which are all free, but prizes can be one such as candy, free boat rentals, etc. Activities that have a small fee are junk food bingo, bingo with prizes, casino night, Disney Quest night, family movie night, (actually that one is free too) and tons more. On the grounds there are 3 pools too many hot tubs to count, hammocks, tennis courts, convenience store, pizza hut, ice cream store, soccer field/nets, shuffleboard, pool, ping-pong, bocce, volleyball and I'm still probably missing some. It was also convenient that it was on the i-ride trolley line, which with a cheap trolley ride can take you to wet n wild, sea world, shopping, and indirectly to Disney. As you can tell by my rambling, I absolutely love this hotel, and I'm sure you would too! Have fun!

You guys are great....I have pictures from Interval as that is where we are "borrowing" from our friend this timeshare. Thanks for offering...anyone have "family type" pictures...you know the kind...the ones they dont put in the brochures LOL.

How much time do you allot from door to door from the Magic Kingdom (yes we have a rental car!)...specifically, did any of you kind people come home in the afternoon for a swim, nap, lunch? Do you think that is possible....we are going off season so the Magic Kingdom closes at 6...we usually would stay till around 1-2 and then go back to our resort and hit another park that stays open later around 5. Do you think this will work while staying here...our last 2 visits were onsite and I DO NOT have intentions of attempting to stay in a park from open to close.

AND...I read that there is babysitting....does anyone know if they use an outside service such as Fairy Godmothers or is it their own service? My husband and I have NEVER had a babysitter in Orlando but really want to go to Pleasure Island this time.

Were your children comfortable on the sofabeds...we will have one child in each one and two in the regular bed.

Thank you all so much.

I don't have any info on the babysitting servicses for you, but I can give some info on the sofa beds and stuff. My 19 year old sister and I shared the sofa bed, and we were fine on it. The only problem was that we kind of kept rolling into the center of it!! It should be even more comforable for children apposed to two adults.
As for the drive from Cypress Harbour to the MK; I think it was about a 10 minute drive, and very easy. I can't imagine you not being able to go back to the hotel for a swim or nap.

Our family of seven stayed here 8/23 - 8/31/02.

I would echo everything that has been said above. In fact, we used this time share as part of Interval as well. It is really that nice. We would stay there again. About a 10 minute drive to WDW.

Also between MCH and WDW is a Publix that is huge, well stocked and very reasonably priced.
