A friend of mine is going in January 2022, with her whole family (15 people). How far in advance should I book for Disney World parks and hotel? I know january usually is lows season but everything has changed nowadays.

January is a little over 3 months away...They should book ASAP!!!
It may be 'slow season' but that also means that resorts will cut back on available rooms, for just that reason. Setting up park reservations should also happen ASAP, not knowing what availability will be at that time.

Yep, especially for a group that size. The more people going, the harder it will be to accommodate.
My wife and I are going around the 2nd week of January, and we've had our hotel reservations for months. Luckily dining ADRs are still only 60 days out.

Next up - January 2023 short trip! We just want to try that 50th Anniversary chocolate monstrosity at Mexico!
I agree...as soon as you have resort reservations and park tickets...make your park reservations. I made my park reservations back in April for my upcoming trip. I will be arriving this Sunday for a week. This is my fifth attempt to go and so far so good!
