Set to check in March 20. Can’t hardly bear to watch the news and hear the announcement that the parks will be shut down. Anybody got contacts with sources in the know

At this point you may want to start planning for it. Seems this is picking up momentum and is finally being treated like the threat it is by those in power.

I doubt if they do. They don't shut down the parks for flu season and those numbers are much higher than the corona virus numbers. They didn't shut down for the last pandemic - H1N1 - which infected 1 in 5 people worldwide. They also didn't shut down for the relatively recent increase in measles cases which also had much higher numbers than the corona virus.
I'll meet you at the Rainbow Bridge.

This is only a guess but I suspect the parks will close within the next week. The momentum to close things and cancel all sports is picking up steam quickly. I think Disney will follow suit soon

Pure guess as well, but I think they eventually will yes.
Disney guests / visitors will lose their marbles over it of course, but just given the way things are trending with cancellations of sporting events and other large gatherings, I can't imagine them keeping open theme parks that collectively see 100,000+ visitors per day from all over the country and world open much longer.

WDW and DL closed until AT LEAST the end of March. Time will tell if they are closed longer than that.
Universal Orlando is closed as well. And Disney Cruise line will not be sailing through that time frame as well.

Good move on Disney's part. WDW, being (arguably) the most popular tourist destination in the world, could easily become a hotspot for infection & virus distribution. Beyond the medical & safety concerns, what a PR nightmare it would be if WDW was traced back to the spot where a major outbreak in the SE part of the US began.
On the positive side though, if Disney were smart about it, now would be a perfect time to get some much needed maintenance, repairs, etc. done on just about anything within the theme parks that needs it. You've got 3 full weeks without guests in the parks, and a full workforce whom I assume would rather be working than sitting around doing nothing. Just about anybody can use a cleaning rag, paintbrush, or count stock for an inventory, as examples. Ride fixes should be in high gear, as there aren't any restrictions on how long the ride is down. Ditto for items that are "Bad Show", but can't be corrected during regular operation. Lemonade from lemons. Just sayin'...

I am not in the health field, but based on what has transpired to my teams in Hong Kong and Singapore since January, I would take a completely uneducated guess that here in the US, we won't see "normal" until close to Memorial Day ...

This is an unprecedented event for our world, not just our nation. I wonder how long it will take to truly recover.
