Love Ft. Wilderness
Just another stay here at Ft. Wilderness. Have stayed multiple times through the years (probably over 50 times since the 70's).
I tell ya, its like coming home. I love WDW as a whole, but Fort Wilderness is the one place I feel like I truly can leave the worries of the world behind. Something therapeutic about it for me. If you ever see a guy riding around in a golf cart late at night smoking a cigar, likely me :-)
Just want to thank all of you other Fort Wilderness guests for being a part of the experience. I find the guests here at FW to be laid back and everyone gets along and friendly.
Just another reason I love Disney.

It has that home feel to it for me as well. Before I moved to FL, I would camp there every December for 2 weeks. Fun times!!! Mornings there were awesome. Could hear the train from MK. The smell of the food cooking from other campsites. The smell of the fort wilderness shower. And the refreshing feeling walking back to the campsite right after a shower. Good times!!! Everyone was super nice and friendly. It was quiet and relaxing there. But yet there was plenty to do and explore on the golf cart. You are right. It just feels like home there.

We are big FW fans too. It's so different than the other resorts. We've been camping there off and on since I was a kid in the 70's/80's with a motorhome. We've even done the tent camping a few times. I love how the cabins have changed over time - I remember when they looked like regular mobile homes and had a mostly white interior!
Nothing beats coming home after a long day at the parks, tucking the kids in to bed, and sitting out on the deck to watch the bugs buzz around the porch lights.

Put us down as fans also. Our favorite Disney accommodation. Great atmosphere, great smells, great people.
