I'll update this first post each day with the forecast (though I'll occasionally miss a day), both long and short term. As a general rule, up to 7 days is a pretty accurate forecast, beyond that it's educated guessing and largely dependent upon how well the models are doing at that moment, which is why I call it "voodooland." If you have any specific weather questions or comments, even if it's for an area other than WDW, please post and I'll answer throughout the thread. I'll also post weather tidbits every so often. Without further delay, let's get to the forecast:
Weather at WDW - Update Thursday pm, March 2, 2017
Today's high should be 81 but thunderstorms will move in later with a cold front. Tomorrow will be sunny but quite windy and a high down to 68-70. There's no sign of organized rain for Saturday through Tuesday, but there is a small chance of a brief passing shower in the afternoon. The high on Saturday will be around 70, then 71-73 for Sunday and Monday. Tuesday goes up to 75-77. Wednesday will be around 80 before showers move in with the next cold front. Thursday drops back to around 70.
Long range...March 10-11 should be clear and in the mid to upper 70s but storms arrive on March 12. March 13-14 also look dry with highs in the mid 70s. Rain comes back on March 15. March 16-17 is dry but (do you see a pattern here?) strong thunderstorms and much cooler air arrive on March 18. So, the takeaway is the models are consistently showing an active pattern for March where you should expect rain every 3-4 days. Also, we're not done with winter just yet. We'll deal with specifics once those days are under the 7 day limit.
Travel Issues
No major issues today or tomorrow, through the NYC area is having some minor delays from high winds and LAX is delayed for some reason not weather related.
Any of you who are nervous about flying, especially related to turbulence, go here and here to learn a lot about turbulence and other issues that sometimes cause anxiety when flying. Hopefully all of this will help you relax and enjoy the trip to WDW more!
