Question re: TIW
We(my family and I) are going to WDW in November. We have two separate DVC reservations - one under my name(I am the member) and one under my dad's name. Are we able to get the dining plan for our reservation and TIW for their reservation? TIA!

Since you're not staying in the same room, I would expect you could do that. You could have the Tables in Wonderland card along with the dining plan. I believe that everyone within the same room/villa must be on the same dining plan.

Here's the thing...
TIW is available to DVC members, and needs to be in the name of a member. The card is not usable by anyone other than the person who's name is on the card. So while you can get the card and use it for everyone in your group, you will have to be present whenever it is used (they will check ID). As long as you're all together, it's cool. Won't work if you're not. Alternately, since you are making both reservations with DVC, you can get the dining plan for both. You can call member services to do that.
You can definitely have both the dining plan and TIW, but just be aware of how you have to use them. You may well be better off with just using TIW.

We do plan on eating most of our meals together, so that probably wouldn't be a problem. I just wasn't sure if they would give us a hard time if we asked to use dining plan credits and TIW in the same meal.

You can use both. They will get their meals with the credits. You can use the TIW card for your meal purchases as well as alcoholic drinks and appetizers not included in the dining plan. I agree with previous poster that if you qualify for TIW, you may not benefit from the dining plan and be better to pay out of pocket with the discount.

TIW breakeven point is pretty high. While possible, it might be very tough to hit that point when used along with the dining plan. You're looking at like $750 or so in extras.
I've heard of some restaurants enforcing even that the owner of the TIW card has to pay as well. May have been a thing a while back, but be ready for it.

I'm still trying to decide if it's a better option to get TIW and then just get the quick service dining plan. After doing some reading, I have noticed that in MK, Epcot, and HS, quick service restaurants are not included in TIW. All of the restaurants, it seems, are included. Anyone have any experience doing this?

TIW is only good at table service restaurants, with the exception of quick service locations at resorts that do not have a table service location (think Values). The full list of participating locations can be found on the tablesinwonderland site. But I can't imagine why you would want to have both TIW and a dining plan.
