Nice Little Plus
In an era when pretty much everything at WDW is drawing negative reviews, I thought I'd mention one nice little plus I saw on this trip.
In the past on the Three Cabs boat ride in Epcot (Mexico) the ending was an animated film of Donald, Jose, and Panchito, but that has now been replaced by three audio-animatronic figures.
Not a big deal and obviously not a high profile ride, but it's my girls' favorite and I thought it was a nice addition at a time when it seems like they're doing everything they can to pinch pennies.
Not sure if this has been posted before, but I hadn't seen it so I figured I'd mention it.

I have not been on this ride since the re-do. Will have to stop in and investigate!
Thanks for the tip Ian

Love this ride, it's simple but we like it, and its great for something to do with little to no waiting. Look forward to seeing this addition on the next trip.

On our last trip (December), I made a point of going on this ride to see this addition at the end. I still remember when those animatronics were part of a larger show in the theater where Philharmagic is now located. As I recall, the entire show was moved to Japan when that park opened.

Yep, the Mickey Mouse Revue! You can find it on You Tube. Very cute show. BTW, I saw the new figures on December an I agree that they make for a much better finale!

That sounds a lot better. My gripe with that ride was all the video screens so this is a positive change.

I agree! Less video screens is always a plus. DH was actually mentioning this a couple of days ago, it is nice to see a change for the better, however small.

What! That little film was my favorite part of the ride, it was even my favorite part of Epcot, and they had to come in a mess it all up with changes! I am writing a nasty email right now, and if they don't change it back I'm going to Guest Relations and surrendering my Annual Pass, enough is enough already!
I kid, I kid!

On the flip side the moving walkway at the end of Space Mountain has been broken since we got here. And there are effects that weren't working when we were here last year that still haven't been fixed.
A year later ........

In general, I am in favor of more audio-animatronics at all times. Although sounds like this means the end of another relic from the (superior) El Rio del Tiempo.

This is one thing that irks me. The ever-increasing expense of WDW would certainly be a lot more palatable if it was obviously being used to keep everything great. Padding bonuses for executives and pleasing Wall Street are not items high on my priority list.

Since the re-do, that was one thing I kept saying - the ending of the ride was very hollow and needed some movement - and I didn't understand why they didn't have audio animatronics in that spot.
I am glad to hear of the improvement.

The Mickey Mouse Revue! Ewww. Sorry, a little cringeworthy for me, having last saw it in Tokyo, with the aforementioned Donald, Panchito and Jose speaking Japanese. But, having said that, I think they are a perfect fit in El Rio del Tiempo and was happy to see them in January.

Posted a video of the new Audio-Animatronics on the INTERCOT Facebook page if anyone wants to see them.
