I was considering my trip for next year and started to question if the parkhop option is really a necessity when just two parks need to be discovered and I have 4 days. What do you think?

Get the park hopper, absolutely. These two parks are just across a courtyard from eachother and it's incredibly easy to go from one to another quickly and easily. The two fast pass systems are not connected and you can hold fast passes in each park at the same time. I can hop from park to park four or five times a day easily. If one park feels too crowded I just move to the next.
We always hop based on crowds. If 1 park seems too crowded at a given time, we jump over to the other one. Big perk.

Thanks for your insights. I admit, it is a good feeling to know you can come and go as you please through Disney....even if its just the two parks, OK I'm sold!
