Crowd Levels and day of the week are probably going to drive that.
Last visit we showed up about 30 minutes before our ADR time and politely requested a table that would have a good view of the fireworks for our DD and that we didn't mind waiting if needed. Crowds were probably an 7 or 8 out of 10 and I think we waited 45 to 50 minutes total.
You can always go and grab you a pint while you wait.
We had a reservation at about the same time in April and we were told it would take awhile to wait for a table outside but if we took the table inside there is a small area to the left of the outside tables that is reserved for the folks inside..it was a good view of Illuminations and then we went back in and finished our meal.

We were there last month. Our Res was for 7:30. We were seated inside and asked if we could watch the fireworks. Just before 9 our waitress escorted us to the VIP viewing area reserved for Rose and Crown patrons only. Its just left of the terrace right on the lake. After wards we went back to our table and had dessert.
What time does Illuminations start? My family and I are starting to plan a trip for August of 2016 and think it would be lovely to watch it from Rose & Crown. Should we also shoot for a reservation time around 8:00 or is there something that would be better?
