Poly People Now it's time to say goodbye..

Good morning Poly. We are set to leave today. We usually book an afternoon flight out, but instead we booked a 10:15 a.m. flight home. I was up early, getting myself ready before I woke the others. I am feeling very tired. In spite of a more leisurely pace this trip, I still didn't get very much sleep.

We all pack quickly and head up to the lounge for our last breakfast here and to say our goodbyes to staff members who have become our friends over the years.

I am ready to leave. I am not feeling that usual twist of anxiety and sadness in my tummy as I usually do on departure day. I'm ready to go. Even when leaving the parks for the last time yesterday, I was aware I was leaving for the last time, but I wasn't overcome with sadness as I usually am. I am ready for home. Ready to go back to the gym and my bike. I miss Katie. I miss my house.

We have this corny routine of holding hands on the patio and saying one thing to each other before we leave the room and shut the door for the last time. It's almost like a thankful prayer. It tends to get silly too, but it's what we do. This time a lizard was in our thankful/goodbye to this trip circle. He stayed outside our door on our room number sign the whole trip and we became rather fond of him.

Getting to MCO was uneventful, so was the flight home. Getting the luggage in the house was another story though. We had two feel of snow to trudge in!

I know I will be back, and I know I'll be ok leaving again!!

Sounds like you had a great trip, too bad you came home to such a mess! This is the winter that keeps on giving, ugh.

I wondered if Kai was still going to be lizard hunting or not, nice to see some things don't change no matter how grown up our kids get. I hope Katie liked her mug. Thanks for the great reports.

As always, I enjoyed tagging along as you explored Disney World!! I can certainly understand being ready to go home - I'm sure part of it was that Katie was not in Disney World with you. Sorry about the snow - it's been pretty unbelievable this year!!

Lisa, as usual I loved reading your report.

I can so relate to your experience about leaving. My husband and I were in DIsneyland in December, had a blast, but realized when it came time to leave that we were happy to be coming home. We noticed our last trip to DisneyWorld (Jan 2014) it was the same way. So happy to go but so happy to come home. Hmmm...is that a sign we are getting old?! HA! Never

Lisa, you may not have been sad about leaving but I was a little sad to reach the end of your reports. I so enjoyed them and your humor. Says a lot about how you feel about home to look forward to going back...even with two feet of snow. Thanks for sharing your trip with us.
