Boardwalk or Animal Kingdom Lodge??
My husband and I are thinking of renting some DVC points for our next trip. We want a studio villa at either Boardwalk or Animal Kingdom Lodge. What are yout thoughts on each?
I'm kinda leaning toward a standard studio villa at Boardwalk. I like the idea of walking to Epcot, taking boat to Studios, having other resorts to walk to... But AKL sounds nice too.

I am biased on this one.
We stayed at the Boardwalk one year, got a great rate at the Inn side, loved it so much we went home and purchased BWV. Being able to walk to two resorts is such a plus.
We have stayed at AKL and liked it well enough but found that the resort is so far away that we felt we were not really at Disney and really had longer travel times to anywhere on property.

If you want a standard/value studio, be ready to find an owner so they can book right at the 11 month If you want either AKL or BWV.

AKL is our favorite - we find the location relaxing. They have great pools and restaurants. They also have the animals.
But, if you like the idea of walking to EPCOT and DHS, and you're going to spend time in those parks, then I would highly recommend Boardwalk. You cannot beat the convenience.

How is the dining AKL?? I'm just wondering if there are enough options.

I think there's 3 table service restaurants and 1 counter service, all very good I've heard.

As of this morning, your chances of getting a standard studio at BWV in October are bleak. There are only 5 scattered nights open. The only studio with more than 2 nights would be Garden View, the weekends on that are booking quickly. BWV during Food and WIne is tough.

I love Boardwalk area. Plenty of food options nearby and easy walking distance to EPCOT and HS.

Another vote for the BWVs. Love being close to Epcot and DHS and there are many restaurants to choose from.

Actually, the dining at AKL is amazing - some of our favorites with Boma, Sanaa, and Jiko. And Mara (by the pool at Jambo House) is an exceptional counter service location.
Many very good choices.....

A few times we have done split stays at AKL and Boardwalk. The animals make AKL unique. Yes, AKL is a bit further way from the rest of WDW. At BW we like being able to walk to EPCOT and DHS. This year, in our stay at BW, we are dining at a restaurant in Swan Dolphin. So, my answer to your question is to stay at both! Go on a second vacation to the resort you do not pick this time.

Both!
We also enjoy staying at both resorts. We generally start at BWV and love walking to Epcot and HS, then spend the last few days unwinding at AKL and AK. Both have much to offer.
