Fireworks viewing outside the park

So here's my situation. I have a Deluxe Annual Pass so I'm a no go for next Saturday, since its blocked. I don't want to buy a 1 day pass. Are there any good places to view the DL fireworks outside the park? A restaurant? DTD? The main entrance plaza? I know its not anything like WDW where you can eat at the Contemporary and watch the fireworks without entering the park. Any suggestions are appreciated!

I haven't spent much time in Disneyland but I do recall having an excellent view of the fireworks on our first visit when we spent one night at the Paradise Pier hotel and had a theme park view.

A lot of guests view the fireworks from the esplanade, between the two park entrances. However, you do miss out on the lower level parts of the show and the musical accompaniment.
