While you may have believed it was implied, there isn't a rule that the quiet pool is only for DVC members. Same holds true for the health club. While it is located at the Villas, it is for the use of both WL and WLV guests.

If this was actually the rule, what pool would guests at GFV get to use? A pool was not added when the Villas were built, so technically there isn't a pool for that DVC. I definitely plan to spend time at either pool, though, when I stay at VGF in October on my DVC points.

That is what we have been told as well when we stayed at the lodge prior to purchasing DVC.

The original sign for the Hidden Springs Pool did say for use of DVC guests which is where the confusion may arise. It was a brown sign near the pathway entrance. The sign was later changed but I don't remember when. We bought in 2006 and at that time it was gone.

With the amount of money I'm forking over for 2 weeks at WL (not DVC member), I should certainly be allowed to use any pool I wish.

I have a DVC stay booked at Wilderness Sept 3-6. I received a letter in the mail yesterday informing me that the main pool would be closed from early September to November, no specific dates given. No mention of lobby work, so I presume that's scheduled to be complete before then. The letter indicated that the quiet pool at the Villas would still be open and that guests would be welcome to use the feature pools at the Contemporary and Fort Wilderness if we wished (with transportation provided). We may take the opportunity to check out the Fort Wilderness pool as I've never been to that resort at all. For us it's no biggie as we're staying at the Beach Club the first 4 nights of the trip so we'll catch our "fun" pool time there.

    Default Letter In The Mail

We received our letter yesterday informing us that the pool would be closed during out Sept/Oct visit. This stinks! We booked this trip well over 6 months ago and although we didn't plan on spending too much time at the pool, I was looking forward to our 5yo grand daughter being able to swim a little. What disappoints me from Disney is that they aren't offering any compensation for their apparent lack of planning. I mean, c'mon, at least throw in a gift card for a pin or something...

Back on topic. Did the work on the indoor geyser and outdoor waterfall get completed by the 4th as originally posted?

I was wondering the same thing. I'm there Aug 2-16. Hope the waterfall is up and running!

    Pools at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge

Enjoy a refreshing swim in one of our pools overflowing with fun themes and Disney character.

I don't believe any pools at any of the hotels are strictly for use by DVC members. The only pool I know of that has restricted use is at the BC and YC.
The pools are for anyone staying at those resorts. And we received an email & a snail mail letter about the pool closure that reminds you of the secondary pool but also offers use of the contemporary pool or fort wilderness pool as well. States extra buses will be provided to ft wilderness during its closure
Too many trips to keep track of now! Vacation WDW twice a year so any questions ask freely ☺️

Just as an FYI I was just chatting with a cast member via their online chat feature and was told that the refurb will also impact the kiddie pool and the spas. Originally I was told they would not be impacted. I honestly wouldn't care except I can't see traveling over to Ft. Wilderness or the Contemporary with a 2 year old just for a swim, and I don't think he'd really be able to enjoy the quiet pool the way he could the kiddie pool, if you know what I mean. We'll see, but I'm really starting to worry a bit about our trip. I'll just keep reminding myself to think happy thoughts lol.

Does anyone know if the scrims have been taken down or if the water is flowing?

I was there last Saturday. They had pine trees around the lobby water well. The falls were off but the main pool was open. No draped areas just construction fences around the falls area.
    Trips planned for 2016......

    January..... Offfsite... Golf outing
