WARNING...ATMs IN COZUMEL...DO NOT USE!!

We just returned from our cruise on the Disney Fantasy to find that our visa card was skimmed and over $900 taken from our account. The only time we used that card was to withdraw money from an ATM in Cozumel located on the main street by Starbucks and Hooter's. Upon Google seaching it, it seems we were not the only ones this has happened to and it is on many boards to avoid using these ATMs.

Can this please be a sticky at the beginning of this topic?? People should be able to see this and be warned that this is a real possibility if they use these ATMs.

Thanks for the heads up! We will be in Cozumel in a little over two weeks on our DCL. I wasn't sure if we should just take cash. I guess this means yes!

No desire to go Western Caribbean and people wonder why...

Actually, I wouldn't think of even taking my ATM card with me on a cruise. I bring money for tips, two different credit cards, passport and drivers license. Everything else stays at home (actually, I bring a membership card to keep the electricity on in the room).

If I can't make do with the above, then I don't need to get it.
