AK and EVC
Okay so I have read and even commented on getting around AK on a scooter. But have not had to do it myself until now. So would like to hear from those who have done it, how bad is it really? Are there tricks (helpful hints) to getting around? Or should I skip AK altogether? Thanks

Next trip in Jan 2017 I hope!

You can 100% do it! We've been to AK twice with my Mom in an ECV and she has more than managed.
The paths aren't as smooth or as easy, but there is no reason to skip AK in the least!

Pay attention to the three points on the guidance card they apparently give to everyone in a scooter:
1. You always have the right of way. Always.
2. Calves and Achilles lack sufficient nerve endings to transmit pain: don't be afraid of hitting them.
3. Scooter > stroller. Keep this simple fact in mind when jockeying for position (and see #1)

DW and I have been ECV users for a bunch of trips. We did AK with no problems that were not due to pedestrian traffic.
Remember that you are below adult eye level, and that kids rarely watch where they are going.

My lady friend must use an ECV. Whether at AK or the others we have never had an issue getting around. I found it was easier if I walked about 3 to 4 ft in front of her when the crowds got heavier. It seemed that they would walk less in front of her than if I walked beside her.
Go for it and enjoy.
Hope this helps...

Here is one more tip:
Go to your nearest boating supply store and purchase an air horn.

remember this.
No matter how much you pay attention, people will not be paying attention and cross infront of you and you may hit them, you will be looked down on for that.
You can move in 90 Degree angles, humans can move in any angle. so they may stop in front of you, come at you in any direction and again if you clip them, it's your fault.
when following behind someone, they may suddenly stop for no reason, if you are unable to stop, it's your fault.

Ak & evc
DW uses power chair at Resort and I push her in ALL the Parks in her wheelchair. Animal Kingdom due the creativity of the construction to make it seem like rock, dirt and jungle is the bumpiest ride, but it's not that bad. Now when we're out and about (Not at Disney) and we go over a brick sidewalk or a stamped concrete design or even gravel, I tell her we're just practicing for the Animal Kingdom.
I would definitely saw go, it is easy to get around as any park, just a different driving surface. Enjoy The Ride!

I have a electric chair. Well I am... umm Butt height and putting my hand out to stop people from falling got me a slap once... More people step in front of me and end up in my lap. LOL...
That said... I have never had a problem at AK or any of the parks.
