Question Which Marriott for one night stay?

We need a little advice about which Marriott to stay at for one night in July. We are flying down one day early b/c flights were a lot cheaper the day before our vacation officially starts. Has anyone stayed at a Marriott hotel near Disney? (We have Marriott points.) We will not be going to the park that day, so we thought maybe a hotel near Downtown Disney. Any suggestions????

We just did that two weeks ago. We stayed at a Fairfield Inn about 3 blocks north of Downtown Disney. They even provide free shuttle service to the park if you need it. It was busy but very clean and they had a huge breakfast. I am a Platinum member and used points myself. They upgraded me to a king suite.

I have stayed at the Fairfield Inn in the Marriott Village and at the World Center Marriott or whatever that's called. However, I liked the new location by far the best. Less traffic and a quick 5 minutes to the property.

I have stayed at the JW Marriott by Sea World. It's really fancy and has a lazy river pool.

There's a nice one near the airport. You can then grab ME from the airport on your arrival day. We stay there if need be around our cruises. Works out great, there are a few restaurants within walking distance.

They have a free shuttle to/from the airport. For ME you don't actually have to fly in on the day you get picked up.

I stayed at the one near the airport. It was actually quite nice inside, very comfortable rooms and bedding, plus great service and shuttle service. I would stay there again. As Disneyrox says, you can be transported back to the airport and use DME to get to Disney the next day.

Does ME take you to the cruise too? Or do you have to take the cruise buses?

ME is to/from Orlando Intl Airport and WDW. There is a separate service for the cruise lines. Those run from WDW to the cruise terminal and also from the airport to the cruise terminal.

Both are currently subcontracted out to Mears...

We stayed at the Marriott World Center for a convention not too long ago. Although it has a business vibe, it is still a nice resort. The place is gigantic (I think it is still the largest Marriott in the world), the pools are fun, and despite being huge it was extremely clean.

It is very close to DD and a quick cab ride to the WDW resorts. Probably wouldn't stay here for an entire trip, but it would be great for just a night.
