What To Pack For Early December?
This is from Steamboat's Wife.
We know to WAIT a few more weeks and see what Stormchasers forecast is for week of December 9, BUT I have a need to start laying out some STUFF!
We always go in September when it is still warm, last year...HOT.
What do you normally pack for those that go between Thanksgiving and Christmas?
Do you take anything other than the obvious jeans, long sleeve and a jacket?
We can always add/delete the week before we leave, but usually by this time I have things laid out on the back bedroom bed.

In 2010 I had to pack shorts, pants, sneakers, boots, short sleeves, long sleeves, jacket, coat, gloves and ear muffs.
In 2011 I had to pack shorts and t-shirts. I did pack one pair of pants and a light jacket (just for the drive back home.)
The weather can go from beautiful to down right freezing over night if a cold front moves through. The boy scout in me, makes me be prepared and Chris (strmchaser) makes that possible!

You're right on the waiting as December weather can be nuts. All I can say right now is that the overall pattern looks like below average temps for this winter. That doesn't mean it will definitely be cold during your trip, but the chances are you'll need long-sleeve stuff and not shorts and tank-tops.

Typically this time of year requires that you pack a little bit of everything as you can get all sorts of weather - from warm to cold.

The year we went 12/1-12/10 my husband mocked me for taking gloves, scarves, and hats, along with our winter coats. I had to sneak a pair of jeans into the luggage for him because "I am not wearing pants in Florida". Needless to say, we needed all of it ( dropped to high 30's night of MVMCP) an he ended up spending $60 on a polar fleece and still froze. We had days with the girls in shorts and T's, days we needed cold weather gear, and several days of flat out cold rain. So, pack it all!

When traveling at that time of the year we always pack a little bit of everything. Even with the 10 day forecast, the weather can ( and often does) change daily.

This will be our 3rd year in a row early Dec. DH will wear shorts and a tee shirt and bring a jacket for the nites. I will wear capri's and a short sleeve and carry a lite jacket for the nite. If it does get down to the 30's at nite it doesn't get that low by 11 pm. I do carry lite mittens for those evenings tho.
First trip May 1996 and many since

Temperature swings could be massive this time of year. You could have 40s with sustained winds of 30 MPH making in very cold or you could have 80s. Waiting is the only option, but you should pack for layers to cope with extremes.
1 Week at Wyndham Bonnet Creek 06/17/17 - 06/24/17; 1 Week at Orange Lake Resort 06/24/17 - 06/30/17; 1 week at OKW 12/03/17 - 12/10/17
