Off to Disneyland this week to try out a new hotel, the holiday inn on walnut street. I barely got a reservation at all, all the hotels seem to be completely booked! So I guess we will go and wade through the crowds!
Holida inn on walnut was nice. Quick check-in, considering we arrived at 1:00am. Our room was clean, but no frig and no microwave. We drove two blocks every morning to park in the Mickey and friends garage(free for annual pass holders) and then took the tram to downtown disney. I would stay at this hotel again, if we have enough points to stay for free again. But otherwise I would want a hotel closer to the park.
Unless they changed it recently, the pillows are terrible there. They were square couch sized pillows. That hotel also fills up quickly because large groups usually book that hotel. We stayed there when high schools had trips to Disneyland. I've vowed to never stay there again. We stay at the Holiday Inn Express Maingate. It's nice and has free breakfast.
