GoPro cameras

I'm considering a new play toy, a GoPro camera.

One of my sons loaned me his to play with to help me decide if I really want one. So far I've used it in the pool to see how it does under water, and I'm pretty impressed. The video quality is very good - near professional resolution. I'm thinking it would be great to use when snorkeling at the beach or on cruises.

I'm wondering if anyone has used one of these cameras on rides at WDW, and if so what mount you used - - head strap, chest strap, wrist strap, etc.

Anybody had experience with a GoPro in a variety of circumstances ?

I too am considering one. Hubby races at our local track. Thought it would be a nice Christmas gift. Would appreciate any feedback.

We use them mountain biking, mounted to people, bikes, etc. they do take good shots.

You will notice they use them on a lot of reality shows now too, very inexpensive and unobtrusive. I hhave not used them on any rides, mainly because I have not been to Disney in some time. I'm not sure if they place restrictions on their use. I've been asked to not record some rides as I think they feel I might drop the camera. And some I didn't want to ruin a good camera (Splash is a good example).

At some point, I might get back into producing ride videos, they just need to give me a good reason to get back there. I'd certainly use GoPros for them, at least right now. Maybe something better will come out in the meantime.

My son and two of his friends all have GoPro's. They use them snowmobiling and the video footage is really crisp and clear. My son's friend also used it wakeboarding and lost it in the lake. Luckily my nephew went scuba diving and found it and it was just fine.
