Default Just heard the Yeti is down

Did they remove him to be fixed or just remove him completely? Any ideas?

Hmm just went back to where I saw this info & the info was removed. Anyone at the park today that can confirm?

The Yeti has been in a static position 'B-mode' since 2008. From other forums, I believe that it is integral to the structure of the mountain and cannot be removed easily. Other reports say that the strobe lights were off during July 2012 and as such guests might not have seen the Yeti lurking the darkness.

Maybe he finally gave up and fell to his death. Stay tuned for a canopy of netting to be erected over the coaster in case something else hapens to fall.

The strobe lights were off in late May when we were there too. The yeti was just a shadow in the dark....

In order to provide a more realistic experience, Disney has decided to make the Yeti truely mythological. Its all about plussing the show!

Ok, maybe my son and I are delusional, but we could have sworn the Yeti was working on July 30th. My son even said "I thought it was going to touch me".

I am going to pay close attention to this when we go on 8/30. I will report back. Thinking back to when we went in december I think he was just there, not the "sweep of the arm" I remember in past years. Hmmm.

well one good thing is the ride has only one anamatronic figure to break down.

last couple of trips so many things were broken in splash mountain it was disgraceful.

I wonder if there are different iterations of B mode? When we were there for park opening during my last trip, I could have sworn that he moved more than he did later in the day (2:00 ish). The guy sitting next to me also commented on this. If not, DH and are also delusional

    Yeah, I know this.

But on our trip a few weeks ago the Yeti was there, and it seemed he was so close to us I was sure it was back up and working again. Maybe I had too many on our trip, and DS too many ! LOL.

We were there and the Yeti was in full working order! We were there in June and the Yeti was lit by strobe lights. We were there in May and the Yeti was DARK!!!
