    Default Requesting Rooms at BLT

During our last 2 stays with our sons at BLT we have been on the 2nd floor and this past trip we were on the 1st floor. We got the standard room since it is a lot fewer points. The 2nd floor room actually gave us a nice view of the pool. Not much of a view this past trip, but the first floor made it a little quicker getting out of our room since we didn't need the elevator.

I was wondering if you can request a specific room/floor or view within the "standard view" category? Also what floors are incorporated into the "standard view" category?

Already planning our next trip...probably August 2013

You can request your preferences when you book, we have requested the 5th floor the last 2 trips and have gotten it each time. We prefer the 5th because of the walkway bridge. You could always request room number too but that may be harder to fulfill.

With the exception of the dedicated 2 BR there are some standard view rooms on the 1st through 5th floors. It looks like the dedicated 2 BR are on the 2nd floor only.

    Default Requesting Rooms at BLT

It does seem as if there are some advantages to having a standard room. In addition to it being less points it does seem as if the first floor is an advantage with getting out of the building to go to pool, CR, MK and car. Like everything else you can request a room but may not get what you request. I will pm you additional information.

This can't be right. I had a dedicated 2 bedroom in February of 2011. I don't recall what floor I was on but I know it was on a floor higher than the crossover bridge.

You can put in a request for a higher floor - kkep in mind that it is a request and may or may not be granted.

That was for a standard dedicated 2 BR from a 2010 map I have. Maybe they changed them with the rate change last year? I'm going to start digging for a more recent map, in the meantime I stand corrected.

You could still be right. Now that I think on it, we had a water view dedicated 2-bedroom.

We had a 1 bedroom water view which I requested a certain room in the north tower on the 12th floor to have an awesome view of the fireworks each night.

It looks like the 2012 2 bedroom standards are only floor 1 and 2. 2013 will have 10 new standard rooms (located on 3 through 5). They are changing from MK views to standard because of the blocked view. I used points for a 2 bdrm MK view in 2011 and was assigned 5th floor first room to the left of the bridgeway. My view was of the monorail and parking lot so I have a feeling this is the area being reallocated.
