    Default Sad day for me

So.. last year, I had the Magic booked to go to Alaska... along came college orientation, and well, Alaska became the Dream this summer...

This summer Calculus 3 and Western Civ came along.... and well, today would have been the day we WOULD have been boarding the dream..

instead... the full cruise was cancelled and money refunded...

sigh... I think Mickey just does not want me to sail... we can't even sail out of Galveston, and that is just 45 minutes away from us... dates don't match up with school dates.. and well Christmas sailing was just over the top too expensive...

    so.... sad day for me....

I'm thinking the dream is really just a dream

That is a bummer. I feel your pain. This year dbf and I were planning a ten day trip to do a land/ sea Disney vacation. But with moms health, etc., I can't afford to be stuck on a boat somewhere with no quick way to return home. So that dream is put off indefinitely for right now.

Did you save the cruise money? or is that why it was canceled, you needed the money? I was going to suggest if you still have the money, put in a vacation savings account to grow a few pennies every month until you can rebook your dream Dream cruise you will get there in time! everything happens for a reason so may be by the time you are able to take the cruise, if in a year or two, maybe something strange and coincidental will happen, like bump into a long lost friend, or a greater deal comes along, or you find they are taking sailings somewhere else you really want to go. You will make it on a cruise someday

Don't be too bummed about missing Alaska on the Magic. The Disney ships don't get to go to the REALLY cool part of Alaska...Glacier Bay!

But, I feel your pain. I've had to cancel I don't know how many trips over the years due to DH's military job. And, forget about a cruise. It will be a miracle if we can ever go on one before DH retires in 7 years. It's impossible to plan a trip more than a couple months out, and usually, we don't even get that much advanced notice of when he can take time off.

It's a bummer...but ONE day you will get on one of those ships! At least, that's what I keep telling myself.

The cruise was her high school graduation gift, so when it got cancelled for the 2nd time, she had to pick out a different gift - so she choose a really nice bedroom set of furniture. I know we will cruise again, but I really think it will be after she graduates from college, since next summer she will probably start interning during the summers (hopefully she will be interning LOL!)

Given that Tropical Storm Debby is in full effect, you might've had a rocky cruise! I'm sorry your plans got cancelled. We just got back from the Dream on Wednesday. You'll get there one day, and you'll appreciate the trip even more!
