Default Day 2-The Return from Riverside Report 4/9-4/15....

    Day 2 sunny / mid 80's

Quick breakfast at the resort - no breakfast plans until our last day - and off to AK. DW scoots off to EE for FP's and myself and the DS' head over to the Safari. Crowds again not too bad. DW meets us and we are onto the ride in a snap. Now we have been on this ride numerous times early, midday, late day - this was by FAR the best see the animals excursion ever! Took a bunch of great pics and there were so many trucks out there - I counted a dozen - it was slow going which only makes it better if the animals are out and about, which they definately were.

Walked the Pangani trail with DS10 while DW and DW12 hit up EE. Made our way over to EE, then hit up Dinosaur(my first!), DS10 and DW did Primeval Whirl - to 'Whirly' for me. Walked around the tree of life a bit and did Tough to be a Bug which we haven't done in several trips. Still cute. And smelly. Skipped Yak & Yeti for that chicken in a box lunch - yumm and decided to hop to Epcot to get FP's for Soarin' as we would be heading there for some evening fun.

FP's in hand we lunched at Electric Umbrella and then back to the resort....pool time! DS' are fish. Downtime back in the room and then ressies at Boatrights. This restaurant never seems to be crowded. Oh well, we like it and all was tasty. Then back to Epcot. Hit up Soarin' (DW's fave) - they really need to add some more scenes/scenarios/destinations for this ride - untapped potential I think. Living in the Land, walked around a bit and popped into Club Coke Cool (always forget the name of that thing) where DW's back was acting up. She took DS10 on Spaceship Earth and back to the room.

DH and DS12 poked around World Showcase a bit and right before Illuminations started we ducked into Maelstrom and then Three Cabelleros. Crowds seemed pretty heavy out there but the park had let out quickly by time we started heading out. Checked out TT but still had a 50 min. wait. It would have to wait. Did Spaceship Earth and headed back to the room. Day 2 in the books.

I like your pacing. You got a lot done, but still had time for a pool break in between. I'm not a fan of Boatwright's, but I'm glad you like it and had a good meal.

I agree. Primeval Whirl is too "whirly" for me too! Nice word - never thought of it before!

Glad you got a good experience on the Safari!

How did you like Electric Umbrella? I worked there on my CP last fall. Very good food, and one of the few places in the parks where you can refill your own drinks.
