And the families/reservations flagged have the meet the "need" requirements to a tee. Like if they only need 3 nights and you're staying for 2 or 5, no deal. They offer it to the folks who are checking in on your day and staying for 3 only.

Special requests like certain wings, views, etc.. can disqualifiers too - as sometimes concierge levels can be outside of a requested view. This is particularly problematic at Contemporary's Tower.

We have been upgraded to concierge level on three different occasions, but they were only one or two night stays. I always suspected the short duration of our visit had something to do with our "luck."

I actually refused at WL due to the balcony. Moved once due to everyone hating the closed balcony.

Swolphin charges for parking, if i recall correctly, and many folks tend to lump them in as "Disney Deluxe Resorts" (I think they even show up on the formal website as such) even though they are "technically not."

It's true. It happened to us. We were consierge in a rose garden suite at the Boardwalk. When we arrived they we all smiles as they escorted us to the Presidential Suite. What a beautiful room with a 90 foot balcony overlooking the boardwalk. And Fresh Floweres in the bathroom. Who knew?

I was upgraded at the Poly in August 2008 to the concierge level. I loved the upgrade, but didn't really know a difference other than the little buffet they put out since I had never stayed there before.

Maybe the cast members felt pity when giving me the upgrade... I spent a lot of time alone that week in my room (and it actually felt comfy too).

The last time I got an upgrade when staying Club Level was in December 2007 at the Polynesian. Had reserved a Garden View - Club Level Room and at check-in was upgraded to a Lagoon View - Club Level Room. Plus that stay was at least 10 + days, so I guess I am the exception to the rule where others usually get it when staying 2 - 3 nights.

We've been upgraded at GF! From 3 regular, garden view rooms to 3 CL rooms in Sugar Loaf. It was fabulous!! I told my family that they were trying to **** us in!

    . . . this is frequent
. . . it allows WDW to fit-in extra people

NOTE: I can still remember sending a gift to two VERY old ladies. They came back from dinner one might early and said they needed to get to bed, as they had a glass of wine and were "cheap drunks" and getting sleepy. The next day, I sent them a REALLY GOOD bottle of champagne, chocolate strawberries and flowers. (The note told them the first was if they were feeling randy, the second if they were feeling romantic, and the last if they could do anything about either.) They were elated that after many years, they were finally surprised.

We were upgraded two years ago at the CR, we had a deluxe garden room. We were upgraded to the Hospitality Suite.....amazing. There was a minor screw up we were put into a regular room in the garden wing, and our DDP was set up for quick service instead of the deluxe. I went back after a day at the MK, and just asked about the room we were put in. The mgr on duty, apologized and asked if it was ok to upgrade us on the spot our kids were in jammies so we did it the next morning.

I was thrilled after spending the last two trips in the Princess suite over at the Poly...this room was 100% better hands down.
