Dining Near Wilderness Lodge
Lately we have been staying on the EPCOT side of the world, but this year we will be staying at the Villas at the Wilderness Lodge. We will be there from Dec. 29, 2012-Jan 5, 2013 and I'm wondering where you all like to eat on that side of the World. Typically we eat dinner in EPCOT or in that area but since we will be over there we are wanting to branch out. We will definitely be doing Hoopty Dee Doo as that's a yearly tradition for us and we are very happy that it will be way more convenient this trip. What other restaurants do you all think are must dos?

Honestly, Roaring Forks in the WL is pretty darn good. Excellent sandwiches and flatbreads.
I love Whispering Canyon Cafe at WL also.
On the monorail "loop", I like:
CA Grill
Kona Cafe
'Ohana
Contempo Cafe (good CS at Contemporary)

You're already going to Hoop Dee Doo, but there's also a TS spot at the campgrounds that's pretty darn good: Trail's End. it'a s buffet at breakfast but has a menu at lunch:
Breakfast buffet
•Fresh fruit
•Cereals
•Sausage
•Bacon
•Scrambled eggs
•Biscuits and sausage gravy
•Grits
•Oatmeal
•Mickey Mouse-shaped waffles
•Hot cinnamon spiced apples
•Freshly baked pastries
Lunch menu is posted on the Disney site; you can access it by clicking here.
Dinner is another buffet, featuring:
•Soup of the day
•Chili
•Selections from the salad and sandwich bar
•Peel-and-eat shrimp
•Chef's choice of veggies
•Smoked pork ribs
•Fried chicken
•Pasta
•Hand-carved roasted meats
•Pizza slices
•Fresh catch of the day
•Home-made fruit cobbler
•Soft serve ice cream
If you're looking for other restaurants that you can access by the boats, there's the Contempo Cafe (QS), The Wave (TS) and the Cali Grill as others have pointed out.
I won't repeat the list of restaurants at WL, but will put in a good word for all of them!

We think 1900 Park Fare for supper is a must do. Also Trail's End, as was mentioned, but if we were doing HDD, as you are, we would probably skip Trail's End, except to sit on the rockers on the porch.
Another must do is Crystal Palace, inside MK. We love breakfast there - especially at 8:05 am. And for lunch we like Cosmic Ray's.

Thanks for all of the replies! They all sound great, we have kids with our party so I'm not sure about some of them, but I'm glad to get the suggestions from you all. We ate at Narcoosee's on our honeymoon and watched the fireworks from the patio, it was wonderful and the service and food was excellent. Just not sure how my nieces and nephew would do there. I'm thinking we are going to try some restaurants in the Wilderness Lodge and maybe some of the monorail hotels.
