We have never eaten at Kona before and might eat there our next trip. Is the tonga toast any good?

There are a lot of people around here who rave about the Tonga Toast. But personally, I really don't care for it. It's just too overly sweet for me. But I'm probably in the small minority that feels this way. Tonga Toast is actually the one thing I DON'T like at Kona Cafe.
Of course, I can't stand the dessert at 'Ohana either.

I am one of the people who really enjoys it. The first time I ordered it, the waitress asked if I had ever had it before. When I told her that this was my first, she said not to put the syrup on until I tried the toast first. She said that it was very, very sweet and, if after the first bite, I could decide how much, if any syrup I wanted. She was right! I don't use the syrup and really enjoy it.
I love the Tonga Toast but I also love the macadamia nut pancakes. So yummy. The order is so big though I can't eat the whole thing! I usually get the TT at Captain Cook's because when I've gone over to the Poly in the past, the pancakes are only available at Kona's.
Kona is one of my favorite breakfasts...I mean everything on the menu is delicious. You can also get tonga toast at Captains Cook inside the Poly.
We go to Captain Cook's every trip!
