Question Tipping with a large group question

We will be using the DDP. We are 3 families going to Disney together and will be eating our TS together each day. How does it work with the gratuity being added automatically for groups of 6 or more? Would each family be charged 18% on their own families' meal or will there be a separate gratuity charge for the combined total of all 3 families (11 people) and then we have to decide who will pay it/split it then/take turns paying the tips each day? Please advise! We don't want any uncomfortable moments when the bill arrives...

I am not 100% certain, but I'm 99% certain that the 18% appears on each separate bill. Not a combined charge.

Chris is correct. You just have to tell your server who is to be included on each bill, it is easier for all if you do this before anything is ordered.

That's what we're planning on doing in a couple weeks: same situation. We have 3 separate families.
So when we sit down, we'll say we need 3 separate bills. That way everybody's dining credits will be taken off correctly.
I think Chris is right; each person's bill will have a 18% tip figured out on it, and since we're a large group, I believe it's mandatory -- you're automatically charged an 18% tip. I think you can choose how to pay for that tip, be it a credit card, cash, or what we do is the easiest -- just get charging privileges put right on your room key and then when they take off the dining credits they'll do the tip at the same time.

    Talking A word of advice . .

Our last trip was with 6 families and DDP.

Watch your bills! They should give you bill with the actual numbers, totals and tip amounts and then a blank one with just the totals and your DDP adjustments. There were some places that just gave the blank and when we calculated it out they were charging us a 40 - 60% tip! If they provide just the blank - ask for the numbered copy. You still have to pay your tip or have it charged to your card, but calculate the amount to make sure it is what they say it is.
