Other Disney sites were talking about Peter Pan back in March of last year....as a rumor.

Hmmm, that's an interesting update on the Dumbos. I thought the time period was a little low in order to get everything in working condition. I was hoping though because the new one has been in place for awhile now.
From the looks of some pictures of the construction I been seeing, they have a lot of work to do on the Dumbo tent (looks like a hard plastic or metal roof shaped like a tent) and queue as well as Goofini and the surrounding areas... The cement for the walkway has been poured and designed and already been opened to relieve congestion in the area... Looks funky... Horse shoe imprints and looks like tracks left from a cart or carriage have been designed into the new walkways...

Right, as we have as well.

    Fantasyland Skyway Coming Down

Hey DizneyFreak, definitely going to go try and get a good look at things tomorrow over in the Circus area. There's a new pathway open?

Well... new in the sense that it has been repaved since being reclaimed at part of Toontown..

I've seen pictures on the internet... The concrete looks almost brownish in color, and it really does stand out from the other pavement in Fantasyland... I will see if I can find those pics again and send you a link...

The path starts over by the tea cups... so not new in the sense of a new walk way, but new in the sense that the old walkway was ripped up and new pavement placed in the spot.. I sent u a link Mel, let me know if you have it in your PM box...

It surprises me that they're going to have zero Dumbos running from now until March. It's not my favorite ride by any means (meh, hub & spoke...) but a lot of people LOVE their Dumbo.
I'm surprised that with the new walkway paved, and the new Dumbo essentially in place, that they don't just open that teensy portion of Storybook Circus so people can get their Dumbo fix...

This whole post just got me thinking. Am I the only one who rode Dumbo for the view? You know, how it was located right behind the Castle and gave you this gorgeous view of Fantasyland. I guess it will still have a great view in it's new home (I'm sure the new parts of Fantasyland that will be visible will be very pretty), but I can't help but think it won't be quite so "Disney" in it's new location. Hopefully I'm wrong!

The plan is to get one Dumbo up and running, then open the second one later in the year... They cannot open the new one yet... There is still a ton of work to be done in that area...

The only reason I took a flight on Dumbo in October was to see over the walls of the new Fantasyland contruction... Other than that, Dumbo is a ride I always skip...

Well, I have to admit that I've ridden Dumbo more in the past 2 years than I've ridden in my lifetime for this very reason.

    Okay, just got home.

The regular queue is still operating as normal, BUT the FP line has now been integrated into the regular line. They took out one short row that's being used as the FP line now. Instead of FP entering all the way to the left and queueing all the way up against where you actually get into your ship (does that make sense? ), the FP row is back in the regular queue.

Pics below - the only thing boarded off is the old FP entrance. Across the way at the site of the new bathrooms, a wall has gone up with greenery scenery. I made a rhyme! I'm hoping that means the waterfalls are being constructed.

Just to add to Mel's post, those green scrims were up when I was in the Magic Kingdom on Thursday of last week. Not sure how long before that they were there.

Thanks for the update, Mel! Glad to see Peter Pan getting a bit of work. Here's hoping this is a prelude to the year-long refurbishment it desperately needs.

I'm beginning to think this is a prelude to a refurbishment... I'm thinking they won't work on the full queue (including taking over the bathrooms by the queue to make it part of the new queue) until the NEW bathrooms are completed.. Also, I have a feeling the entire ride is going down for a much needed refurb once Mermaid and the first phase of Fantasyland opens... That way more capacity isn't compromised...
