never been there, but my daughter would like to try it. I'd like to hear about both the food and the setting.

We haven't eaten there recently, but it's a pretty setting inside the Mexico Pavillion in Epcot World Showcase. The setting is inside though themed to be in an open air Mexican village and borders the Mexico Ride/Volcano. It is dimly lit. I think it's beautiful!

Food, used to be and still is I believe, traditional Mexican. They do not have "tex-mex" so it won't be fajitas and such. I remember there were moles and enchiladas offered. I had a good salad for my lunch entree. Margaritas are excellent. Of course they have a children's menu as well. Although I thought the food was good, I didn't think it was great. I think the atmosphere is very nice. If you are paying out of pocket and not on DDP, you can save some $ by eating lunch there instead of dinner.

My husband and I ate here our last trip in Septmenter 2011. We thought the food and service was good. My husband had a burrito (I think) and I had the steak. The only thing that we did not like was how crowded it was. The tables were so close to each other that we had a hard time walking through to get to our table and we felt that we were eating with those around us. If you can try to sit by the water.

We ate there twice and probably won't be back. We ate there 10 years ago and the food wasn't that great, however they have recently changed the menu so we decided to go back last August. Our waiter was not good at all...my mom spilled a glass of water early into the service and the setting wasn't changed at all, he didn't refill our drinks, and we waited a long time for the check...the food was okay...not the best. My chicken had a strange texture...almost like it was raw. The dessert, however, was delicious.
I know that some restaurants/waiters have good and bad days so maybe we just went on a bad day...the atmosphere is beautiful. Our table was right near the water, and we watched all the people go through on the ride, which was fun!

We've had ups and downs here. It's usually good for us, and we've always had great service. The setting is lovely, but the tables being closely placed distracts slightly. Overall, I would say give it a try, but keep your expectations reasonable. It won't be the best food and service in WDW, but hoping you have a great time and decent food, as we have.

This spot really gets both good and bad reviews. Typically, we've enjoyed our meals here. Just ate there a few weeks ago and had good food and wonderful service. I'd certainly return.

Like some other posters said... It's not Tex Mex. It's traditional Mexican food. If you go with that knowledge and are okay with that it's pretty decent. If you want something like On The Border or Chevy's you might not want to go here. We all liked it but we are pretty adventerous (sp?) when it come to eating. My MIL also married a man from Mexico so we have had that type of food before. The kids loved the atmosphere. Check out the menu on the WDW website.

We didn't care for it. It's a very pretty setting, but it's small and they really cram the tables in. It would be nearly impossible for a wheelchair or even someone who is plus sized to navigate. I felt like we were squished the entire time.

We also didn't really care for the food. It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't great either. We are used to traditional Mexican fare so that wasn't the problem. In my neck of the woods we have a lot of fantastic, authentic Mexican restaurants all over so maybe we're just spoiled? Of course even "traditional food" in Mexico varies by region. I don't know, but I don't think we'll be trying San Angel again. There are just too many other options in EPCOT to settle for something we thought was just okay.

We LOVE San Angel Inn! Go there every trip! (and we're die-hard Tex-Mex fans) Our boys love to 'eat by the river.' It's always a very relaxing meal.

Alrighty, well idk how old your daugher is but i'm a 17 yr old daughter, and i have to say that it's a great place to go! me and my fifteen yr old sister always want to go back. the pavilion makes you feel like your outside...in mexico. the food is great! the chicken mole ( chicken with spicy chocolate sauce) is my favorite. la hacienda is across the walk, it's a more fancy mexican restaurant, with much less magic and atmosphere.

I will say that it has one of the best atmosphere's going of any Disney eatery, however the food was horrible as well as the service. We had visited several years and had wanted to try it and upon a subsequent visit planned to eat there....what a monumental waste of time and money !!!

...p.s. I have had authentic Mexican and Tex / Mex and it wasn't even close.....by a mile !!

My daughter is 19 (and she has a 14 year old sister) so this is great feedback - thanks!
