Default The Old Contemporary Resort Arcade 1980's?

Does anyone remember the OLD Contemporary Resort arcade? I stayed there with my family as a 7 year old. I remember the arcade being absolutely massive and seemed to have hundreds of old school arcade games (the latest and greatest of the time of course).
I remember coming back from the parks and then dinner and my dad taking me down there. I had no idea where we were going but remember entering the room in absolute amazement. I specifically remember they had the old Return of the Jedi arcade game, and I played for hours and hours, my dad pumping quarters into the machine. Then we would return to the hotel room late at night with my mom and sister fast asleep.
Really cool memory with my dad. Arcade games were the craze back then. I know the arcade no longer exists. I wonder if anyone remembers it, or maybe even has a photo of the arcade.

We use to love the old arcade. Originally, they had a theatre in one corner that showed Disney movies and one corner had a shooting gallery. Then against one wall they had a steeplechase game for several players. We loved it! Still miss it.

Yes, this is the arcade that I loved! They later made it smaller and took out some of these original features.

Yes, yes, yes!! We stayed in the Contemporary tower rooms on our very first trip to WDW in 1977 or 78, and when my sister and I found the arcade we thought we were in kid heaven! It's so hard to describe for people who didn't live during that time -- video games were just becoming popular and they were the coolest things, and the arcade was enormous and brightly lit, nothing like the dim, gloomy places they have now.

Sis and I got to stay down there for a few hours during our vacation (I think while my younger sister was taking a nap in the room with my parents), and I will always remember it.

I do. We stayed there in 1980 over Christmas. I played many furious games of air hockey with my Dad in the game room.

I loved the Fiesta Fun Center! It was one of the best parts of my vacation as a kid! I remember the shooting gallery, the small cinema that showed Disney films in the back, the characature booth in the front, and the aisles and aisles of video games. Gauntlet, Ring King, Pac-man, air hockey, just to name a few. Without a doublt the best arcade in the history of planet Earth!

I still have the picture from the characature booth hanging up in my basement. We would finish dinner on the concourse then race down to arcade. What a great place, now all these memories are coming back.

Oh that's right! My parents still have one of my sister and I. I completely forgot about that!

I loved that game room! Every time we are at WDW and happen over to the Comtemporary we talk about how great it was. My older sister and I had some super awesome air hockey tournaments down there. We would go play while our baby sister took a nap. We got to get a characature each year and I always loved how they would put my dad in as another character with me. Great memories!

I loved that arcade too! The shooting gallery was my favorite - I love the Frontierland Shooting Arcade too. I spend many a night at the Fiesta Fun Center and have very fond memories of the place.

I also remember eating dinner from the cafeteria/snack bar on the other side of the room.
