Sept. 4, 1995 – Disney’s 1-hour TV series “Nowhere Man” began airing on UPN. (Ended Aug. 19, 1996)
Sept. 4, 1997 – “The Spirit of Pocahontas” gave its final performance at the Fantasyland Theater in Disneyland.
Sept. 4, 1997 – Buena Vista Home Entertainment announced that it is entering the DVD market in the U.S. and abroad, with product to be available in the U.S. as early as Christmas.
Sept. 4, 1998 – Fifty-one Miss America contestants, led by reigning Miss America Kate Shindle, Greeted fans and signed autographs at Disney’s Boardwalk, before they take the stage in Atlantic City, N.J.
Sept. 4, 1998 – The Disney/Hollywood Picture film “Firelight” was released.
Sept. 4, 1999 – The Disney Channel Original Movie “P.U.N.K.S.” premiered.
Sept. 4, 1999 – Disney’s syndicated television series “Siskel & Ebert” began airing under its new name “Roger Ebert & the Movies” due to the passing of Gene Siskel.
Sept. 4, 2000 – Hundreds of Mary Poppins fans gathered at the El Capitan Theater in Hollywood, Ca. where moviegoers were invited to sing-along with the film as lyrics appeared along the bottom. Before the film started, the Sherman Brothers and others involved with Mary Poppins spoke about creating the film.
Sept. 4, 2001 – The 2001 Official Disneyana Convention took place at the Disneyland Resort. (5-day event)
Sept. 4, 2001 – Disney’s touring production of “Aida” opened at the Arizona State University’s Gammage Auditorium in Tempe, Az. (Ran through Sept. 15th)
