Default OKW refurbishment - better or worse?

We stayed in an unrefurbed and a refurbed room at OKW last October. We definitely prefer the old theming but what do you think?

Please post to say if you have stayed in both types if you are registering a view!

    Cool

Members since 96 and stayed at OKW starting in 92. I realize they needed refurbishment....but I really liked the old decor much more and the bathroom in the one bedroom we stayed in December needed a refurbishment big time. Still love OKW, tho.

Mikki, thanks for posting this poll, as we are newish members of DVC and OKW is our home, our first visit was in the refurbished rooms. Loved, loved, loved OKW in general and the rooms were very nice, but we sort of felt cheated out of not having any kind of "theme". The new decor could pretty much be found in any time share unit anywhere in the US. Disappointing.
PS - I did not vote as we never stayed at OKW before the redo.

We just returned from our 5th "yearly" family gathering at OKW. We all stayed in the new, refurbished rooms. We all LOVED them. The decor, granite counters, wood floors and all new shades on the windows and doors are a great change.

    Thumbs up

I've stayed in a refurbed 1 bedroom and liked it.

I've only seen photos of the refurbed rooms. I will miss the light-colored kitchen table and the overall "I'm in Florida!" feel of the old decor.

    Default May Trip

BF and I just booked a trip for the first week in May. Can you tell me if all of the rooms have been refurbished?
