The much-anticipated New York INTERCOT meet
I already have plans for the 5th. The 12th is Valentine's weekend, the 19th is president's day weekend and the 26th may be part of school vacation for some districts
Does anyone want to wait until later in March when the weather may be more cooperative or is February 26th good for people?

I like the idea of Feb. 26. That gives us about six weeks to plan and generate interest.

I would love to, just keep me posted. Right now that looks like a good date.

I think I can do Feb 26. It's at the end of my Feb break from school, so I might be able to come and possibly bring the kids.

Any plans as to what we will be doing? I know the usual lunch and I am guessing the new Disney Store in Times Square.

I suppose so, unless anybody has any better ideas. My only request is we find a restaurant that's quiet enough that we can actually talk! I hate when we sit at those huge tables and no one can talk to anybody.

Now that the date has changed I might be able to make it! Any suggestions what would be the easiest way from MA to get there? I have driven to NYC plenty of times, but I would be going at it alone. The hubby is going to stay home with the kids. It's along drive all by yourself.
Next Visit: Fall 2013
Now approaching the Carousel of Progress
We have 999 happy haunts here, but there's room for a thousand. Any volunteers?? If you should decide to join us, final arrangements, may be made at the end of the tour.

One option would be to drive to the New Haven CT train station, park there (parking garage) and take the Metro North into Grand Central. The cost is very reasonable (30ish round trip). That's probably what I will do. The trains leave every hour on the half hr.

Would love to meet at the Disney store and then find a place to eat nearby. I agree that a place where we can actually hear each other and talk would be preferable. I'm sure the New Yorkers will have good suggestions on places to eat. I have no preferences and am good about where ever is decided.

I come from central CT and usually drive down to Stamford and take the train. Or I do Priceline, get a cheap hotel room in Stamford, and drive down the day before.
I have also taken the bus from Hartford -- it's about a 2 hr ride.

So glad you may be able to come! This date has generated a wonderful response, and I think we are in store for a fantastic event.
I suggest talking to some of the Connecticut people regarding transportation. The train might be your best.
Let's keep this momentum rolling!

I'd like to commit but circumstances may cause me to cancel. I should know better as we get closer to the 26th.

Thanks for posting, Jeff. I received your e-mail and hope you will be able to attend. Also, I now know why you call yourself "Scar." Clever.

You're going early, Christine! I'm probably heading down there in the middle of March. Actually, we're thinking about hitting Clearwater for the first time in four years or so.
