Wilderness Lodge or Fort Wilderness?

We are going in 2 weeks...staying at the Contemporary Resort. January evenings will be chilly....does Wilderness Lodge or Fort Wilderness do any outside campfire activities in the evening? Roasting marshmellows, movie, etc?

Yes, WL does do a campfire movie, and so does GF which would be easier and quicker to get to from the Contemporary. However, in Oct. we asked at the front desk at the GF about the campfire movie. I was told that a lot of the resorts only do the campfire movies during peak times or summer. Not sure if this is true, but there were no movies at the GF that night, that I know for sure. That said, the campfire movie at Ft. Wilderness happens year round so the OP will at least have that option.

Campfire movie at FW has been a favorite for years! I see that now many resorts offer an outdoor movie, but it started at FW and we have built many memories there

from the Contemporary, you can take a small boat over to fort wilderness, so that's kind of fun. They do campfire sing-a-long with chip and dale nightly, and they also have a movie.
