Prayers and Pixie dust needed for my family

My husband's father passed away, suddenly, two nights ago. He had a heart attack. The family is reeling. He was 55.There is not much I can say right now but the family is really having a tough time coping with everything. I could really use your prayers/thoughts/vibes/pixie dust to help get us through this difficult time- And maybe some advice about dealing emotionally with such a sudden death. Thanks guys.

I am so sorry for your loss. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. I know this must be very difficult for all of you. 55 is so young. I understand what you are going through having lost my mother a few days after Christmas when she was only 54. I wish there were magic words I could tell you during this difficult time. I'm so sorry to hear about your family's loss, especially to lose someone so young. I lost both my parents a few years ago unexpectedly. It's very shocking when you don't expect it. All I can say is to get through it as a family, remember all the good times, and take things one day at a time. It's always hard to lose a loved one. I lost my mother to a sudden death from a heart attack almost 21 years ago. The shock was unbearable, but time does help heal. She is gone from sight but always in our thoughts and minds.

Thank you all. This past week has been extremely tough. We have Christmas to get through and then we'll be leaving for a vacation in Park City, Utah. Hopefully it will help us move ahead in the healing process to have a change of scenery.

Well we are muddling through. Our flight to Utah got canceled because of the snow but we might get to leave on Wednesday and salvage a few days.

You will get through. We lost my brother 2 years ago very suddenly and unexpectantly; he was 38. This, by far, was the hardest thing our family has had to deal with. My parents struggle every day, but are doing significantly better than they thought they would be. The holidays are hard, but if you remember the good times, it will help. Enjoy your vacation and remember that time really does heal.
